LG Fusic (LX550)
Reviewer: Lythium on Mon Jul 10, 2006
Great phone. Battery life is amazing even when you play music for hours or stream video. My sanyo rl7300 would be dead if I talked for 1 hour but the lg550 goes for several.
The mp3 player does resume where you left off when you receive a call. After your call is complete it even asks you if you want to go back.
The fm transmitter is a handy feature but it is just like the ipod transmitter. You have to be within 1 foot of the radio or less, specialy in city type areas like where i am.
Overall.. I would highly recommend this

My Review of the LG Fusic
Reviewer: diceruk on Sat Jun 24, 2006
Here is my review on it. I have the phone for about 3 weeks now and it’s a pretty good phone.
Digital camera – take great pics and it comes equip with flash. Even though it has flash, you have to be very still when taking pics at night. I have yet to get good clear pics at night. It works great during the day or places that have sufficient lighting.
Bluetooth – just like other LG phones, the controls take a bit of time to get use to. It’s not as user friendly as other brand. The speed is pretty nice, I was able to transfer songs from other phone in about 30 – 40 sec. The only down side to this is that I get error message saying that the file is “invalid” format and I can’t find the files that were transferred to my phone. Maybe I’m not setting the right folder. Who knows?
Transmitter – the bread and butter of this phone. If you have an ipod, you can buy this add-on that allows you to transmit your song over the radio wave. Well, this thing comes built-in with this phone and it works great. You get 12 channels to broadcast and a pretty good array of frequencies.
MP3 player – I upgrade my SD card to a gig because I’m a music nut. It comes with 5-6 equalizer that let you play around with. It doesn’t have any shuffle, repeat, or resume mode. I get annoyed since a phone call would break you out of the mp3 player and then you got to go back in and find where you left off.
Ringtone – probably one of my biggest pet peeve to this phone. I can’t find a way to set my mp3 songs as ringtone. I had to buy couple of songs off the sprint shop and it’s not cheap. Let me know if you find a way.
Pictures and screen saver – pretty easy to assign pictures as your wallpaper and screen saver, I wish LG would allow the same ease with mp3 ringtones.
Clarity on calls – not bad at all so far I get reception at any place I go. It doesn’t have analog roaming though so if you’re in a rural area, this phone is not for you.
Speakers – another one of my pet peeve, it’s not as loud as I want it to be. Other phones beat the Fusic in this department by far.
Battery life – I do get quite a bit of phone calls and with the mp3 player and Bluetooth, it suck up the battery life real fast. It’s not bad for the amount of things that it has to power.

I Love my FUSIC
Reviewer: cinderella4433 on Sun Apr 15, 2007
I have had the FUSIC for about three and a half weeks now and I realy like it. I honestly have only one complaint . I don't like it when I am trying to access my music without opening the phone and it prompts me to "open the flip and try again" Thats pretty much my only complaint realy. I even accidentaly droped it in water on like the fourth day I had it and it happened to be a day that there was no tech at my local Sprint store so they told me I would have to wait till there was one there. Well at first it wouldn't turn on or anything but about an hour after the water incident I turned it back on ,it was posesed for a couple hours dialing numbers and takeing pictures everytime I opened the flip, but probably 4 hours after being droped in the water it was working just fine and dandy agian. It's so easy to use it took me about a day to get used to because I've only ever had Motorola phones and they're features never realy changed that much from phone to phone but once i got the hang of it, it is so easy and fun to have. I totaly recomend it for anyone who loves music.

Fusic phone has pros and cons, dying battery issues
Reviewer: njhan on Thu Aug 09, 2007
I purchased my Fusic with Sprint service about a year ago. I wanted a phone with lots of storage for Contacts with multiple data tags (cell, email, note info), a decent camera, and an MP3 player. I also wanted it to have connectablility to my computer so I could back up my Contacts, upload music, download pics, etc. Sprint seems to be money hounds and has purposely disabled some of these simple features and only allows you to do it though their "paid services".
Contacts / Backup for contacts
Pros: You can have tons of contacts and at least 6 numbers with labels for each contact, plus an email addy, web addy, and
Cons: YOU CAN'T BACK UP YOUR CONTACTS WITHOUT PAYING FOR THEIR SERVICE OR BUYING ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE! It COMES with it's own USB cable so you can upload songs to its MicroSD card, and you can download pics you have taken, but you cannot access your contacts unless you pay $3 - $5 bucks per month and have it auto backup to the Sprint Server. I had to by 'Data Manager' or some software program at Costco for $50 which allowed me to access the Contacts, upload info, and back it up.
Photos via text messaging:
If someone text messages you a photo, you can't open it unless you pay the extra $5 / month. Verizon let me have a monthly plan, or pay 25 - 40 cents per pic. $5 / month is a ripoff for one or two pics a month.
Battery issues: In the last couple of weeks, when my phone is fully charged, my phone has suddenly said 'Low Battery, powering down'. The phone shuts off. I turn it on, and then my battery level slowly comes back up to full charge. Any one know what's going on? Is my battery dying, or is anyone else having this problem with their Fusic phones?
Sometimes when using the Headset, I have to unplug it and plug it back in to 'reactivate' the headset mode. Otherwise, the sound is muted when I'm making or receiving calls. That's annoying, esp b/c I usually am in Headset mode when I'm driving and don't want to take my eyes from the road to fiddle with my muted phone.
But this phone is not all bad. I like the FM transmitter so I can play my MP3 tunes to my car radio. It's a lot more rugged than I first gave it credit for. I upgraded to the 1GB MicroSD card and got quite a few songs on my phone. The battery lasts about 3-4 hours when playing music.
After paying the extra money for the software to be able to upload and back up my contacts, it's been okay. Fairly reliable, surfs the net, takes decent pics for a 1.3 megapix camera. I like that I can down load my own pics with my USB cable (but not text msg pics w/o fees - see above). But now my current battery issues make me want to look elsewhere.

my review
Reviewer: gramma4health on Mon Apr 02, 2007
I purchased the LG Fusic LX 550 thinking great phone.not!
Well it was a great phone until I had Sprint change over the date from my old phone to my new fusic.it started this clicking noise unprompted, click click click.so I took it back and they gave me a new phone .I again had them transfer my information from phone to phone.and it started with the annoying click click click clicking junk again! I get application errors, I go to make a call and the camera comes up. the phone is all messed up and it's their fault. I tried to take it back once more but they mumbled some junk about not being able to do that or something and I haven't pursued it.

Phone has many problems
Reviewer: chelsB on Wed Apr 11, 2007
Do not buy this phone. 2 months after i bought it, it stopped charging unless i laid it on its side. it also would randomly connect to the internet which killed the battery and did not let incoming calls or texts come thru. after an entire day without any incoming calls, i went to make a call and 4 text messages and several voicemails popped up. I called sprint service which was of no help at all. I then bought the travel charger which worked for a month, and now the phone must constantly be plugged in. for instance. i charge it all night and within literally 3 minutes of talking it dies. I have never been so frustrated by a phone in my entire life. my next step is to buy a new battery b/c as a full time student, i dont have time to sit and wait for repairs or money to buy a new phone.
DONT BUY THIS PHONE

This phone is a piece of junk!
Reviewer: brianna on Thu Jun 28, 2007
I bought this phone about 2 1/2 months ago - had it for a week and noticed problems with the battery dying after not being on charger for 4-6 hours. I hadn't even used the mp3/music features yet and I rarely get any phone calls while I'm at work, and just a few text messages a day, I could not understand what the problem was. So Sprint tells me to take it to a repair shop - they then tell me to pay $35 to have it replaced after I just bought it for $85. So my replacement phone comes in and a week later same thing, the phone gets extremely hot and shuts off. I never got my voicemail or text messages until I recharged the phone. I finally wrote Sprint and LG and Sprint did offer me a $150 rebate on a new phone - so I went with it and bought the Motrola razr. I am so happy with this phone I can leave it off the charger for two days or more and the battery never dies, I also get all my phone calls, text messages, and voicemails. I would never recommend the LG Fusic to anyone, it sucks. Now I am stuck with the piece of junk and have wasted $120.

do not buy this phone.
Reviewer: sambou812 on Thu Nov 23, 2006
i thought i was upgrading my phone, man was i wrong,i am going from an sanyo rl2000 the best cell i have ever purchased.
to this weak powerd thing
i should have left well enough alone..
i have had this lg lx550 3 days now and have has nothing but problems, maybe if you lived in a big city the phone would be ok but i dont.
pro's cool features if they worked well.
cons:ALL of its featurs rely on a perfect connection if you leave your service area your mp3's you have loaded from your collection onto the mini-sd or the downloaded sprint content just stops playing and wont start back up.
it all so downloads firmware updates and intalls those those files without your knowledge or consent thats way to dark for me considering a bought this phone i didnt get it free at any time they can dissable a feature or make purchased content unusable.
if you decide to your service with sprint your phone becomes a verry expencive paper waight.
thats not all sprint is trying to charge you for free programs like aim im email ect thats after your paying for acces of the so called power vision network.
the data capabilitys are not any better on powervision than thay were on vision i get less bandwidth on this phone using it as a modem than i did on my sanyo with the old vision.
last but not least the audio quality is sub par the fm transmitter is verry weak the bluetooth signal is weak its pcs RX-TX signal is weak.
thats not all but i have said enough..
excuse my spelling on this post(cant spell worth crap a when i am P'O')

A Lustrus Phone that Lacks Style
Reviewer: Ornament on Fri Jul 21, 2006
I got ahold of one of these phones about a day after it was released, and instantly set to trying to 'port music over via bluetooth. To save you all the trouble of trying it, it doesn't work, the phone won't save data passed in this way, when they said "listen to music from your micro-SD card, that's what they mean, only from the card.
Other then that the phone is lack luster in performance, the menu pretending to be 3-d seems to be rip off of samsungs mm-a880, except it isn't animated like the a880. All in all, I say, "Lg, please please leave the making of phones to people who know what their doing!"
