This phone is great! Until recently, I had a Siemens S56 with regular Att service for a year. I got rid of that because Att customer service was terrible and I was plagued with billing errors. So, I replaced it with a Motorola i285 on the boost network. Total crap! (Phone and network)
Having owned the i285 for a week, or so, I had to make a change. I researched alot of phones, this time, and came to the lg4015 for the price and functionality.
First, someone here said the reception and sound was bad. That is not a phone issue. Its your local network reception.
This phone is crystal clear. However, I wish the voice volume could be cranked up a bit more. It could be hard to hear in loud surroundings. A speaker- phone would be nice too since I am used to not having to hold the handset to my ear, and would rather not.
The functionality of the sphone is intuitive and simple. It does not have quite all the "tweeks" of the S56, like multiple font sizes etc. but that is really not an issue.
The screen on this phone is 64K so it has the best picture I have yet seen in a phone. (as good or better than the samsung 105)
Dont let the price fool you. The enhanced version of this phone (4020 and up) only adds the exterior LCD screen, which I dislike because then I have two screens to protect and that defeats the primary advantage of a clamshell phone.
I have also noticed that LG has alot of flexibility and compatibility between models. While few companies make ringtones or wallpaper for my phone, I have been able to substitute content intended for other models of LG phone with success, especially do-it-yourself graphic and ringtone software.
This is the first phone I have had in a while that the keys actually fit into the shell without sticking or creaking when I press them. Handling is very nice and typing text with two thumbs is reasonable.
I have no complaints except for that voice volume issue.
Great phone at a great price.
PS, now I have ATT gophone service and for some reason, customer service has been 110% better than for monthly billed plans. Hmmm.

This is a fantastic little cell phone! We cannot use camera phones in our work, and our old Motorola StarTAC's were getting a bit long in the tooth, so we opted for this sleek little model from LG. Very pleased with the function and size, color screen, VERY easy to program (we only used the manual for about 10 minutes, everything else was very intuitive to set up). My wife had to go to L.A. on a business trip the first weekend, and we talked back-and-forth between L.A. and Phoenix with an extremely clear signal. Can't say enough good things about this phone. Oh yeah, except it was FREE from AT&T when we renewed out contract. Pretty sweet!

I used this phone for a week and then returned it for something else. I loved the small size of the phone, the display and the ease of navigating through the menus.... but, the reception and sound quality were terrible! I could barely hear people many time even with the headset attached... and the volume turned up all the way. Also, people I called had a hard time hearing me with static and outside noises in the background. Everything else about the phone was terrific. I also spoke with a friend of mine that has the same phone and he was experiencing the same issues I was having. If the volume was louder and clearer for the receiver I would have definately kept the phone. Instead I returned it and opted for a Nokia 6200.... not quite as slick as the LG but great reception and volume control.
One of the other things I felt was also lacking on the LG were Vibrate mode at all ringtone volume levels.

We thought this was a fairly decent little phone until we realized just how many calls were being dropped. Seemed to be area dependent but this is rendered irrelevant if you need to make or maintain a call in an emergency. With no warning, the phone would just drop calls. Unfortunately, we didnt read reviews until AFTER we got this phone and were made aware of this being the major complaint about the LG 4015.
While I am at it, I would like to advise you to also stay away from ATT wireless if you can help it. Although we were customers for three years with a fairly spendy family plan, we never missed a payment. Went to make a call one day and were informed that we were suspended for non pay. To make a long story short, ATT had misrouted our payment, suspended and reinstated us twice after our emergency credit card paymentsand didnt even bother to apologize after discovering their mistake. Does it really cost them money to allow you to remain connected until they verify the source of the problem?? I doubt it. Last but not least, why get sucked into a 2 year contract when you can get the same deals for one year with T mobile??

I like mine... sometimes bad reception but calls never get dropped for me, maybe once but I think that was my fault.
It is a small compact flip withgoodies like a unit converter, world time, and calculator. I like the speed dials and 255 name phone book that you can list multiple # under a name. Then again, I stepped up from an old Nokia 3390 so I'm pretty enthusiatic as I am the youngest in my family and I have the best cell.
