I have had my phone for about 8 months and I love it. I was a former Nokia user and this phone is as very user friendly as my Nokia. By that I mean, you can figure out how to use most features of the phone without having to crack open the user's manual. Now when it comes to some of the more detailed features, please open the manual. I also looked at the Samsung and Motorola phones and decided to give LG a try. I have not been disappointed and was pleasantly surprised by this little phone. The reception is very good, and I seldom drop calls. It has all of the features you could want on an upscaled basic phone - clock, 250 address book, calculator, reminders, and even a 10 sec. voice recorder that comes in handy when you need to "jot" down something. The rolling extermal screen saver (Cingular) is annoying but I've gotten use to it. It preserves the battery life by not illuminating the time, etc. constantly on the external called ID. The outside buttons on the left side of the phone is a convenience to quickly look at the time, date, change the mode to silent or vibrate without opening the flip. The new LG L1200 is my next purchase. It is a GSM international phone (tri-mode) with the built in camera. These are the two things my 4050 lack. So far I have found that my accessories - earbud, wall charger and car charger are compatible with other LG phones including the L1200. LG is new to the mobile market but I think they are doing a very good job. Price wise it is compatible to Samsung phones. Look out Samsung, LG is coming at you!

The phone is real neat to use. clear screen and easy to use. The quality of this phone is poor though. I am a local dealer and 90% of these have come back with some sort of a problem ranging from keys sticking, not working, the screen messing up is some way or the external screen going out. Also problems with the battery life. I believe LG has discontinued this phone, I think that is a good thing.
