Verizon Wireless today launched a wireless service that lets parents check their children's whereabouts. Based on Global Positioning System (GPS) data, the Chaperone service also lets parents set up geographic limits and receive text alerts if their children, who also carry phones, go too far from home.

LG Electronics previewed its aggressive 2006 mobile phone product roadmap at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In addition to its 2006 handsets that integrate the latest wireless technologies with style and function for the U.S. market, LG also emphasized its global reach and showcased 22 different models available outside the U.S. CES attendees can get a closer look at LG mobile phone technology at the LG Booth, #8214 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
