LG Shine (CU720) User Reviews

I've had this Shine phone for 4 days now and I have not charge it yet. I leave it on 24/7 and use it for personal as well as business. Besides many calls a day I also text message 15 or more times a day. I use media net for at least a half hour to and hour a day if not more.
I have very large fingers and I have no problems with the toggle or the keys. Also the reception is great crystal clear, the person I'm calling can hear me very well, they also say it's crystal clear.
I have the silver and I have not had any problems as far as dropping it. I've had a cell since Feb 1996 and never dropped one yet!
I have 5 friends with this phone and they are all very happy with it. We've all agreed that if something should happen to our phones that we would replace it with the Shine. It's a great phone!

I have to admit, I've dropped my phone a few times, and every time that it's dropped, it comes completely apart. Back falls of with a resounding metal clang, the battery falls out and the phone bounces in a completely different direction.

Other than that, I love my phone. It's a cool phone, and I actually like the toggle switch. Reception on it is very nice, except in areas that I know are dead zones (obviously). I like the set up of the phone as well. It's laid out very nicely.

My only complaint really is that the keys are kind of squished in under the slider. I'm pretty nimble when it comes to texting, but the keys are a little bit difficult to text on. I'd really kind of like something with a little bit bigger keys, however, it's not as bad as my brother's sony ericsson slider. You want to talk about smushed keys. Yikes! Also, I hate getting the smudges off the screen. It's terrible because you can see every single fingerprint.

But my favorite part of the phone is the button between the volume keys and the key for the camera on the side of the phone. I can have a program (like a game) running and can minimize it just like on a computer, so that's really kind of sweet. Also, I love the ability to be able to use it just like you would a digital camera. It's awesome.

I love my Shine!

So far I really like this phone. Easy to use, with lots of nice features. Nice large bright screen, well made with metal case. Sounds good when I make a call, the person I'm calling sounds "normal" not hollow or like they are in a metal can and same goes for my voice so my friends tell me. Enjoying this phone so much we now have 2 in the family.

icon_mad.gif Okay, it's pretty, it's sturdy, the kids love it.I don't! The toggle is next to impossible to use with old arthritic fingers, the keypad is too small and with big fingers I don't know how anyone can NOT hit the wrong numbers.
I've had the card replaced, and even the phone replaced by the service center because it will show full bars and then drop calls without even moving. It's truely frustrating to be with a group of other cell users and everyone else can use theirs and mine will not connect!
The last time I went into the service center with it 4 other people were in there with the Shine for the same reason!
As soon as I can this phone is being replaced!

All style no substance!
Expect to drop it a few times because of the slippery metal finish.
Battery life is awful,Expect to charge it every day and the reception is not the best.
But its full is pretty bells and whistles that have nothing to do with making phone calls. Its more of a girls phone.
I traded mine in after three days. The black one does not look as sleek but does not slip out of the hand as bad.
Good luck with the toggle, Unless you are a hobbit its dime size will give you fits and make you hit things you do not want!
The price for this with a two year contract has gone down 75% in one month. Take this as a warning.

The LG shines sucks. The screen goes black on mine all the time and it's new. I don't know if its heat sensitive or what, but this is my second one they've sent me and it's now going black. I think it's from changing my display from black to pink. Please don't get this phone

I got a refurb cu720 black, to replace my cu400. The cu400 could stream vids from youtube and vuclip through Opera Mini. Not so with the shine.
The shine has a mem.card, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get it to play stuff I've stored to it. Oh, and the joystick is anything but .
