The Lg Voyager
First off i wanna say that ive had MOST of the phones that were released in 06-07, like the LG 8100, 8300, 8500, 8600, 9800, 9900, Motorola Slvr, Razr, Krzr, Samsung a950, a990, flipshot, xv7600, xv6800, Motorola Q (like the red and black one) blackberry 8703e, and thats all i can remember.
so yeah, its alot, i know, but i scam verizon and say that one phone doesn't work like a week after i get it so they let me pick out a different one.
but this one, BY FAR is the best, the EnV is also my other favorite, but the outside screen and buttons were just to small to even deal with
first off ill tell you how owning a voyager feels hahah.
at first, pulling this beast out of my pocket and watching all my friends drool over it was nice, but after letting 300 grubby little fingers play with it each and every day, i get a little annoyed. but life with any other phone just wouldn't be as exciting. when i first got the phone it has software version 05, and there were just a few things that would go wrong with it that would get annoying, but nothing to complain about. then just recently i got version 07, which i definetly suggest anyone with a voyager go and get ASAP, its free and only takes the nice folks at the verizon store about 20 minuets to install. it fixes the little bugs that every other phone might have that don't necessarily effect how the phone works, but more likely fixes things that could have been better, that just needed a 2nd thought by the designers, like being able to customize the outside shortcut screen. i wont get to far into all the details of what the software update does, but its definetly worth getting. so back to living with the voyager, it does everything, it has great response, no lag when typing, great call quality, and it looks great, no complaint with the touch screen either.
the thing is, people compare this with the iPhone, but i feel that it doesnt compare at all, not that its way better or anything (which it is lol) but its just in a different category, its only similar because it has a touch screen, but the touch screen is much different, on the iphone you cant use a stylus, or like a pencil (which i wouldn't recommend using unless you have a plastic sticker like screen protector). this does have a full keyboard on the inside, which is nice when having to touch a screen gets old, i still like the feel of real buttons (haha dirty) ((kinda)). LONG story short, this is like a mix between the Env and an iPhone.
Pros
-great responsive touch screen AND full keyboard
-great camera with auto focus
-long battery time
-loud clear speakers only on the inside though (muffled while closed and trying to listen to the Mp3 player)
-great signal (it has a retractable antenna)
-two VERY large screens
-gets live TV (extremely clear picture, i was truly amazed)
-has a great full HTML web browser
-text inbox never gets "full" because it gets up to 233 and then just starts automatically deleting the older ones.
-you can put flash games on it and use the touch screen for them VIA bitpim
-can be used a mass USB storage divice and can be plugged into car stereos, XBOX 360s, ect ect.
-has a great email application built in.
-you can black calls and texts to contact list only (which you used to only see on Motorola phones)
-can use blue tooth for practically anything
-has a massive 184 Megabyte built in memory
-VERY customizable menus and fonts and colors ect ect.
Cons
-big size
-hard to text fast (let alone at all) on the front screen without getting alot of practice
-web browser uses ALOT of MB to use, the quoted me 100+ pages for one MB and then i chose the "pay as you use" option where you pay $1.99 per MB you use, and the i had a bill of $700 that i made them credit back to me
-ummmmmm
-thats about it
most other people might have more to complain about because they dont take the time to fully understand and learn the phone, and there really isnt anything bad about it.
they wouldnt have made a phone like this after making the V, and the EnV and forget to put in more than what the two previous models had
LG has made a GREAT phone that is on Americas most popular network, and made it very user friendly, and very good looking
other than your average nit picky complaints, this phone is PERFECT
i love everything about it, and i even like the things that are wrong with it because i feel it gives it character, and makes it distinctive lol

REcently upgraded to the voyager,
Great phone all around.
Large touch screen- very responsive but the only problem is that the pictures never take up the whole screen and most is black background (so why have such a big screen if you cant use it) Best thing is I never have problems with accedently calling people!
QWERTY keyboard- Makes for easy texting but it does make the phone too thick.
2.0 mega pixel Camera- takes awsome pictures with high resolution!
stereo speakersinside and out- provides great sound quality but takes up alot of space.
its compatible with Bitpim and thus easily syncs with my PC including outlook contacts/calendar, music, pictures, ringtones, etc.
internet is fast and easily viewed on the big screen. it uses EVDO technology so depending where you are, if you don't have EVDO coverage all high speed applications lag a bit.
It's a very user friendly, all around great phone with tiny querky flaws that you get used to fast.

I received my Voyager on December 1st, 2007. When I first got the phone it was great. It ran perfect and nothing was happening as far as technically. Then around mid-January my phone started to reset when I would set it down on the table. Then it started tor reset when I text messaged. Then it reset when I was in the middle of web browsing and IM's. I got the phone serviced and all of the software up to date. It started to do it again once I got home. I decided to bring the phone back in again. The replaced it the next order that came in with Voyagers on it. I still have the Voyager and now my screen blacks out and resets to the main page in the middle of text messages and IM's. It resets whenever I do anything as far as closing the phone or texting rapidly or IMing my friends. I just called them up today and they said that if they can not duplicate the problem then they will have to keep giving me the same phone over and over and over again. If you are thinking about getting the Voyager. think again!
