It's not a lousy phone, I'll start with that. But it's not steller either.

As a handheld phone it works quite well. The battery life to good. The reception and call clarity are both very good. The user interface is setup very nicely and the contacts are easy to use. The interior screen is large and clear. I also like the selection of ring tones, there are many midi tones to choose from and rather fun. Not polyphonic, but not boring either. Speaking of rings, the ring volume has many settings, starting with loud and going up from there. If you plan to go somewhere quiet, set it to vibrate.

The ouside OLED display is a gimmick and stupid. I would've rather had a b/w LED display. It works well enough in normal light but you have to hit a button to turn it on.

The big drawback to this phone only shows if you try to use it with a hands-free headset. To use the headset you need to open the phone first whether that is to make a call or answer one. This is such an issue since the stock plastic belt clip holds it closed. I went through 2 of the plastic clips before I gave up and now just keep it in my pocket. Problem number two. It would seem that while the outside buttons do not allow you to answer a call, they do let you cancel an incoming call. This happens alot if you keep your phone in a pocket then reach for it while it rings.

If you do not need to use a headset, I would actually recommend this phone. It does basic phone things well.

This was my second phone. It was excellent. First of all, you get more than what you pay for. This phone was only 29.99 and had more features than the 4500 that was 69.99 at the time. The outer display is OLED which has a cool blue laser look. This phone can be described in one word: icon_cool.gif SLeeK icon_cool.gif . It has an interesting design with cool menus and wallpapers. I could write a longer review if there were any cons!
