I just got the 4700 on 2/28/05 after having the v60p for about three months. The 4700 puts the v60p to shame. Again the speaker phone is just awesome, it sounds clear and by far is the loudest i've heard yet. The phone has great reception and holds a signal very well. Ptt works great except for a flaw in which sometimes push to talk gets disabled somehow and a restart is all that fixes it. (sucks but can deal with) Lg did take out the silent mode from the shortcut on the outside which got held down if placed in your pocket and accidently pressed. Good thing to get rid of!! Voice commands are excellent and so far no training is the better option for the commands. Over all the 4700 impress' me as i've never been an LG fan till now. (had back luck with em) I now own 4 of these phones and would not hesitate to buy another. Oh, and if someone has this and doesnt know anyone on ptt, contact me and i'll get in touch with ya on playing with it if you'd like. icon_w00t.gif

I just got one of these yesterday (3/1/05) and so far, I love it. Prior to this I had an old Tracfone, and it died so I decided to get a new cell.

I didn't care if I had a picture phone or not. I was going to go with the 6100 until the rep put the 4700 in my hands. The speakerphone is phenominal! Voice Commands work great. The button on the right side of the phone (holding it with numbers facing you) turns the speaker phone on and off while you're on a call, you can switch from speaker to handset with a simple press of that button. The Driving Mode is very handy, I use it even when I'm not driving.

The Push To Talk (PTT) works pretty good, but I only know one other person that has it so far so using it has been limited. I wish I could have opted not to sign up for that portion of it because I love the phone for everything else about it aside from PTT. Not that I don't like PTT, I just doubt I'll use it much, and it's an extra $10/mo. Kinda sucks but once more people are on perhaps I'll use it.

The only gripe I have about it so far is the shortcut for getting on the web or whatever. I accidently hit it and don't mean to and it logs me on. I'm not sure if or how to reprogram that button to something else. Will have to look into that.

Other than that, great phone! I'm hoping the data cable comes out soon, I wanna customize this bad boy! icon_biggrin.gif
