I love this phone. I bought this phone 4 days ago after leaving my old cell phone in my pocket when getting into a hot tub . I went to Verizon Wireless and explained everything and they WORKED FOR ME to sign up a couple of months early so i could get a new cell phone. I love the fact that you can take pictures of everything, 15 sec movies, longer battery life than the Samsung i was debating with. the location of the camera is great to prevent scratches, unlike the samsung whos camera was on the outside and unprotected. One downfall i have found is you can't changet the red boarder around the picture, oh yeah and there is no speaker phone, eventhough it could be perfectly capable of it. My family thinks im crazy for getting the phone because it is so large but i think it is comfortable to talk on, and it was only .08oz heavier than the Samsung. The wallpaper pictures are stupid, I only like the tropical theme, but i guess you could pay for the Get It Now pictures Verizon offers. This phone is also capable of IM through Aol Yahoo and MSN, not many phones are capable of the new interface yet. When you make a voice dial call and it thinks you might have said a different name it will ask you if that is correct instead of just calling the one it thinks you want, TIMSAVER, and SAFER while driving. Battery life is also great 3.3hrs talktime digital (no analog on this phone) and 7.5 days standby. I love new things and i thing this phone is the new thing for everyone becasue it has everything and is comfortable

features. If you don't care about Bluetooth or Speakerphone and want the BEST phone you can buy, this is your phone! I mean this phone is the best feeling I've EVER used and I've owned a lot of phones and the screen is nothing short of gorgeous. The quallity of sound both in the ear piece and for ringtones is the best I've heard. Size wise it's perfect for me but I prefer larger and I can't over emphasize the feel of QUALLITY that this phone exudes it's nothing short of amazing. It feels soooo good in my hand that I haven't been using my hands free headset like I usually do. The keypad is especially well done with the backlight in blue except for the green send key and the red end key which are a nice touch and you're able to find those keys with just a glance. The overall ergonomics as well as the fit and finish are second to none. Other than the 2 features I mentioned previously I have just 1 complaint, even when you have it on the highest resolution the pictures are still too grainy.

I am also coming from Nextel, and have had the LG VX7000 for just about a week. Though there really hasn't been time for anything to go wrong with it, so far it has been great. Just as the poster above mentioned, the weight (or lack thereof) of the phone is pretty unreal. Though it is bigger than most other phones these days I think it fits nicely in a pants pocket, and is even manageable in a shirt pocket.
I have received great reception and everything sounds clear - and I am a huge fan of the voice dialer command, it never misses what I say. The big screen is great, and I find the menus fairly easy to navigate through.
All is great, I could go on forever on how much I like it. With this phone I think its hard to be disappointed.

I just purchased the LG VX7000 three days ago, and it is by far the best and most advanced phone I have owned or used. I have had Cincinnati Bell Wireless & Sprint, both of which I would never reccomend. Since having Verizon, I've had 0 dropped calls, and perfect reception anywhere, especially places Sprint doesn't.
Back to the phone, it has just about everything you could ask for in a phone. The only disadvantages I can think of is speakerphone and maybe a weak battery. I might purchase the extended life battery. I fully charged the phone the first day I bought it, messed around with the camera and video, entered all my contacts in my phone, and used it for maybe 45 minutes total talk time, and the battery died. I guess I'm just not used to how much juice the camera needs.
Speakerphone is not that big of a deal. My friends have it on their lower LG models, but for everything else the 7000 offers, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I was surprised at how well the camera works for a cell phone. If you know how to take pictures, then you know that taking pictures of fast moving objects or of objects in areas with basically no lighting are not going to turn out well with this small of a lens. Sorry, this is not a digital SLR camera with phone capabilities.
Coming from a Nokia and a Samsung, I really like how the LG menus are laid out. They are very easy to navigate and understand. The inside screen is amazingly clear, anywhere, anytime of the day. I almost thought it was going to be too big, but I could handle it being a little bigger. Probably not much more than the VX8000 though.
Here's a list of the pros and cons I came up with. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of this phone, but I believe there can always be ways to improve for LG's VX7000 succesor.
Pros:
-large, full color, high-res screens
-record anything and make it your ringtone (best feature on any phone that i've seen)
-camera with flash & video with sound
-great memory size (i think it can hold 30 videos & 500 photos)
-take pictures with the phone closed
-very easy text/pix/flix messaging capabilities
Cons:
-no speakerphone
-short battery life
-ear volume could be a bit louder (i still have to roll my windows up in my car and turn down the radio to hear the person calling)
-can't use the flash with the phone closed
-when you set an event on the calendar, there should be an option that tells you how many days until that event
-no bluetooth
All in all, this is the best phone purchase I have made. Even though I paid $100 with the $50 mail in rebate, I'm very pleased.

The phone is great!
-One of the best screens i have seen to date
-nice external screen, perfect for seeing a picture on the outside of who is calling
-i get great reception, offcourse my area is full of coverage
-very easy to get ringers onto my phone without having to pay
-stylish, a little big but still weighs less than most phones
-menu is very user friendly
-camera takes nice photos for a cell phone, easy to transfer them to my computer
-nice clear and loud, for ringtones and talking
some problems are...
-the fact that when you charge it, the outer screen stays backlit, a little annoying but not too bad.
-i dont care for speakerphone, but it doesnt have it
-bluetooth would have been nice, but i can live without it
-flash on the phone really isnt all that great
-the black face came out AFTER i allready had the blue face!!

I just received my new LG vx7000 from Verizon Wireless via FedEx this afternoon, so admittedly I have yet to fully experience it. But thus far, it's amazing!!
I'm coming from Nextel, so I'm accustomed to a bulky, weighty phone with virtually no features and a greenscale screen. The vx7000 is the polar opposite. Though longer than my Nextel, it's thinner, narrower, and lighter by a long shot. The color screens are so much fun, coupled with the camera, I've already put a photo of my puppy on the wallpaper.
The sound quality is excellent, at least as good if not better than the Nextel service. There are a limited number of rings that come standard on the phone, but enough to allow everyone to find something that doesn't grate on their nerves. Anyone who wants more inventive ringtones will surely download them anyhow.
There are but a few drawbacks. Firstly, the menu.... while yes, I'm sure it's an improvement in some ways over the previous model (which is what I keep reading in reviews), those coming to this model from another phone manaufacturer altogether may find this menu a little less intuitive to use. Not unbearbly so, in fact in the 12 hours I've been using this phone I've basically got it down. But it's something to be prepared for.
The rotating lens is interesting. I do wish that when rotating the lens, the viewfinder would recognize that and flip automatically, but it's two clicks of keys to flip it manually, so it isn't a big deal. The rotating lens itself, though, feels a little too delicate for my tastes. Only time will tell if that's just the feeling or if it really *is* delicate.
Overall, I'm thrilled with my new gadget. To all those complaining about the picture and/or video quality, please remember, it's a PHONE, not a camera. You wouldn't complain if your Nikon kept dropping calls, would you?

On the LG vx7000:
I will only mention cons because the phone is so great that there appears to be too many pros.
Cons:
-no speakerphone
-phone flips open everytime I run (I wrecked my bicycle and the phone flipped open as I was falling and it broke the main LCD screen, luckily I had insurance)
-no bluetooth technology
-faceplate is hard-2-change
Other than these, the phone is fairly good. With the Motorola Razor and other cooler phones, I give this phone 4-out of-5 stars. The voice clarity is unbelievable!!!

When I was picking out a phone in th store I wasn't thinking how much Iloved speakerphone and got this phone anyway. The Two large vibrant color screens blew me away (Especially after coming from a V265) Anyway after about a week some glitches in the phone started to appear.
The swivel camera was getting annoying to swivel and the entire front part of the phone was coming loose (I never even dropped the phone) and there is an annoying red banner around every picture, you can't even change th color.
Pros:
2 large color screens
Large keypad, easy to see and press numbers
Simplified get it now feature
Picks up good signal
nice, easy to use design
Cons:
Swivel camera comes loose after while
Black/Blue part of faceplate made of some sort of rubber, scratches very easily
NO SPEAKERPHONE
Annoying lights flash whenever phone rings, cant turn off.
Annoying red banner around pictures
short battery life
Gets very hot after 15 minutes of talking on phone or charging
In the end i'd have to say theres a lot better phones verizon has to offer, go with them, id stay away from lg.

In the month I've had the vx7000, I've decided that I like the phone. It is the best phone I've owned in 10 yrs of hating cellular technology. It has a great feature set... but something is missing.
I've seen all sorts of phones that almost get it right, and then the engineers go brain dead and close the design phase. The vx7000 is almost perfect, but they left off speakerphone and bluetooth. Why?? For lack of space??? The phone is comparably HUGE so that can't be the reason.
The next model up, the 8000, is a screw up cuz the camera is a backslide. The 7000's swivel design is so much more useful so that must be why it had to go? They should keep the layout of the 7000 and just evolve it with maturing features. They should add an SD memory card slot (imagine 1 GB of memory on a phone) and MP3 player capability. The antenna needs to be completely internal and they should also make the hinge a little stronger. It is constantly getting flipped open inadvertantly.
Even with all the rants, it is very solid and over-all... a very good buy.

i am currently on my second lg vx 7000 due to the first time the wires used to charge it got extremely bent since i lost the little metal piece in it due to a screw came lose.
i love my lg vx 700 because of the camera, the lights and the ability to use data cables with it. the battery does die quickly after using the battery for a long time, but i just recently got a new battery for it($20) and it works perfect once again. my only difficulty with it at the moment is all of my screws in the back keep comming lose.

First let me establish that I am totally in love with this phone. It's my first cell phone, although I had an old green-screen phone without service from Sprint that a friend gave me. I just used it as a phone book.
So before I got the phone, I researched the phones and the service providers and read Consumer Reports and all that jazz. I decided on Verizon Wireless. And I fell in love with this phone so that was that.
I brag about it all the time but....there's one thing that I feel a little bit funny about and at the same time really erks me. Now and then, at seemingly random times, my pictures turn into ghost images. That's the best way I can describe it. I will have 30 to 50 pictures in my Gallery and suddenly they will just start disappearing. I have almost the FULL 4 MB of memory available on the phone. They sit there untouched. I look at them sometimes, and then other times they are blank. The file is still there, mind you, but the photo is just....nothing. The Resolution is suddenly "None" and the File Size is suddenly "3548 KB." The Date remains the same. But the picture is just gone!!!
This happened within the first two weeks of me having my phone. It was brand new. I took it in to the Verizon Wireless store and they said that they had never seen anything like it. They gave me a new phone because it was covered in the first 15 (or 30, I don't remember) days. They called the old one "DOA." (I had to ask them what that meant. They said, "Dead On Arrival.") So, satisfied, with my new phone, I went home and had to charge it again so the battery would establish a nice memory. Very soon after that, the same thing began to happen again. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
I have never heard of anything like this happening to any other VX7000 in any reviews or anything that I've read. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.
The one thing that I did notice, was that the conjuration of the picture-ghost seemed to directly correlate with my downloading of the Instant Messenger and of Tetris. When I got my new phone I didn't have Tetris anymore but I downloaded Instant Messenger and noticed my pictures hiding again!! So I deleted Instant Messenger and the picture....began showing up again. Could it be...coincidence? It happened again today. Almost all of the pictures are just blank (except all of the ones, or most of the ones that came with the phone). I did, however, make about 6 "Notepad" notes and I had 6 or 7 TXT Message Drafts saved. I had 50 Sent TXT Messages and 20 or 30 received.
None of this ever showed up in the memory info. Most of the time it says 40K or right now it says 0K (zero K) of 4.82 MB. Memory is "0% Full." I deleted all of the Sent and Received TXT Messages. I still have some pictures and a few Notes and a TXT Draft though.
I'm obviously missing something here. Someday it will come to me in a revelation. (I still love this phone!)

This phone is the coolest. I had purchased it in may getting one of the last blue ones in stock. Unfortunately I broke it and had it replaced with a black one. I dealt with i and started to like it a lot. I think the verizon user interface looks better on the outer display next to the black faceplate than it did on the blue. Speaking of the dreaded red bars, everyone seems to hate them. Maybe it's because I'm a girl and would have chose red for the bars anyway but I like it. It makes it much easier to navigate. As I posted in another thread, you might as well get a phone with verizon user interface because in the long run all phones will have it and yours won't so you'll be behind in technology.
Pros
Verizon UI (Thats my opinion )
Large screens and buttons
Coloful and vibrant camera
Flashing lights on incoming call
Cons
No fun frames
No speakerphone
Poor choice of preloaaded ringers and wallpapers
Vibrate feature is to strong
I would definitely recommend this phone to all who are looking for cool technology. Although it might have been discontinued ( don't see it anywhere) you can still find it on e-bay

I love my new VX7000....EXCEPT for one thing. What are those super bright colored fashing lights all about everytime there is an incoming call on my phone??
In the front , and on either side of the flash there are EXTREMELY BRIGHT colored lights that indicate an incoming call. I can't begin to convey how obnoxious they are. They turn a very classy looking phone into a something that resembles a "toy".
Does anyone know how to turn them off ? (if that's even possible) In the meantime i covered the front of the phone with black electrical tape to hide them.
I'm dissapointed that I never read anything about these terrible looking lights.

Yes a nice phone, feels good looks good, easy to use. I'm checking out Bluetooth now on the V710,seems a little user unfriendly, though I'm pretty stupid!! If not for the Tooth,1.2 on cam and the mp3 player on the V710 I may have stayed with the 7000.Though folks, the 8000 is coming soon and I will trade in Bluetooth,if it comes out in time!! To at least feel it out. ok happy hunting!!!

I am on my 3rd lg vx7000 because my first one: bicycle wrech broke screen
and second one: dropped in toilet and went haywire
This phone is good but cannot withsatand much of nething. I went to the little sahara state park and got a tiny grain of sand in the charger slot-it thought it was on car kit mode. Anybody whoo buys this phone will be impressed but it stays balanced so u will be impressed the other way around too.

This phone is wonderful the first day I had it fell out of my pocket and
fell on the hard concrete floor but it did not break and did not scratch at
all. The two things i did not like about this is no speaker phone and the
keypad is to close to the lcd because I looked at the lcd screen and it
had the imprint of the ok button scratched on the lcd which pissed me off
(I still love this phone)other than that 1 to 10 I would give this phone a
10.
