This is probably one of the most popular phones ever made, next to the RAZR phone, and Treo phones. Nextel and Motorola takes a big step from their usually "ugly" models and land a monster of a phone into our hands. The Nextel I860 is their first flip phone with camera which we were all waiting for, then behold a revolutionary new creation with the push-to-flip button. I promise you will get hooked onto it, when I used a different phone I dearly missed this feature. Even though with the whole new beautiful look and design comes along the drag of not many features. FIRST I WANNA SAY that without the ability to make ringtones and put wallpapers onto this phone all Nextel Phones would be a drag, all it will be is a bland walkie-talkie. But thats their trademark, unlike these thieving companies that charge you $1.99 for shortened/basic ringtones, you get to create whatever ringtone you want, and the best part is the I860 holds so much of them. At one time my phone had about 70 different ringtones all customized and wall papers. This phon was a really big step for both Nextel and Motorola but really lets have some creative features please. Imma break down all the aspects of the phone!!!!
The Greatness!!!
1. Design!!!
2. Push-To-Flip Button!!!
3. The ability to Personalize!!!
4. Storage Space!!!
5. Customizable Ringtones & Wallpapers!!!
6. Has A Camera!!!
7. Nice Bright Screen!!!
8. The Ability to Customize The Phone with Faceplates!!!
The Weaknesses!!!
1. Battery Life Sucks!!!
2. Not Too Many Features!!!
3. No Bluetooth!!!
4. Camera Could've Been Better!!!
Overall, I give this phone an 8!!! This phone is just fully customizable its just weak on the feature side. Nextel & Motorola needs to really come up with new ideas for menu's, features, and displays because they always seem to repeat themselves but still a Great Phone!!!

I would recommend waiting before purchasing this phone. I bought the phone the day they were offered and have had many problems with receiving net alerts. The first problem began on day 27 of having the phone. I called Nextel and received their typical answer "we can't help you" and told me to call Motorola. I called, and they wanted me to pay $55 to have the phone repaired. Keep in mind the problem was occurring because of a bad phone, not because of any negligence on my part. After battling with Motorola, they finally agreed to send me a new phone and paid the shipping for me to return my phone to them. I had the new phone for not more than 1 week and the same problem started occurring. I haven't had time to call Motorola as I know it will be a hassle again, but I will be calling in the near future.
Since I paid $250 for this phone, I should be able to use it without any problems. Since the phone comes with a 1-year warranty, Motorola shouldn't make it so difficult to repair a phone that obviously doesn't have the problems worked out yet. Consumers should not be required to pay anywhere between $30-$55 to have a phone repaired that is still under warranty.

I bought this phone 2 days after it came out. It is awsome. there is only a couple of things. One is u cant change the banner, u can change the name on bottom of the screen if u make ur own profile, it shows the name of the profile its on. And second the outside display is only for the time and all that, like a regular external display. u cant put ur background image on there. Other then that i like this as much as my old phone (LG VX6000). If you have nextel, and got the means i would go out and buy it.
