Motorola should have scrapped the i930. Pathetic phone....
Reviewer: the2ndflood on Thu Mar 16, 2006
It took Motorola a few years of R&D to finally bring this phone to the market. But some of the people working and Motorola said the phone would most likely be scrapped and they would bring out a better Smart-Device.
They didn't scrap the i930 and in not doing so, then brought to the market the worst phone I have ever used!
First off, this phone brand new cost around $500. More then the i870, which has many, many more useful features.
2#The day I received the i930, I was immediately disappointed with the pathetic, ugly display. Don't let the 16 bit color display stat's full you. The i930's display is ugly as sin. Worse then most phones out there. Colors are dull, pictures look pixelated. A feature that could be looked past on a $150 dollar phone, but not a $500 dollar phone.
3#You have to "Decertify" the i930 in order to use software purchased from companies other then those chosen by Nextel. The process is not difficult, but is stupid seeing as this should not be the case in a Smart-Device. I would expect this from Verizon, but not Nextel.
4#Motorola made a big mistake in the limited amount of RAM they put in this phone. I kid you not. I put one program on this phone, Battery Pro, and the phone starting telling me it was running out of memory. How pathetic is that?! If I was the CEO of Motorola, I would make sure there would be twice as much RAM in the phone, that would be needed by the default OS software. This is just another mistake that should be not found in a $500 dollar phone.
5#Text messages can only be sent in GSM mode. So unless you are outside of the US, you will have to use another program to send text messages.
I could go on like this, but I won't. Main thing to remember, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! WAIT FOR THE I940 OR SOME UPGRADE LIKE THAT.

Almost the Perfect Phone
Reviewer: nic5603 on Sat Mar 11, 2006
I am going to the store to purchase this phone today. I love that a nextel phone has Windows on it. It should be a great combination, Motorola, Nextel, and windows all put together to mke the ultimate phone. The only thing tha stands in its way of being the best is that it doesnt have bluetooth. They managed to cram everything else imaginable into the phone except bluetooth and FM radio. You can listen to radio on the internet using windows media player which it has. Try cramming everything into your next phone guys.
Thanks
Nick
