icon_biggrin.gif phone. is. awesome.

it's worth the extra 20.

I recently upgraded my cell phone (from a RAZR v3) because I also wanted to upgrade to the MyFave5 plan that T-mobile has. I'm unhappy that T-mobile chose to make the MyFave5 only capable to those who purchased a MyFave5 phone. but after buying the phone I can't complain.

I originally purchased the Samsung T629, I really liked it's huuuge screen but HATED everything about it. Needless to say, I took it back within 24 hours and got the RIZR.

Picture quality hasn't been the greatest but I just learned how to use the bluetooth transfer and I'm loving it. I'm never downloading a ringtone again. Since the phone comes with a 128mb memory stick, I just loaded some songs that I like on there and will use those for ringtones. Amazing. Love that quality, don't know if I could have done it before - but I like it.

Definitely like the way the rizr feels and is even decorated on the slider. (yes i'm a female) it's super fun.

huge dislike is the fact that I haven't figured out how to have regular contacts w/diff ringtones. it seems only the myfave5 contacts get the luxury of having their own ringtone?

another dislike is where they placed the "c" key. I always hit send instead of the "c" key to back up when I'm texting quickly. maybe I should slow down? either way I wish it was in a different place so I'd stop sending funky words to people that don't make sense with anything I'm saying. haha. oh well.

sounds great by the way, good reception, good clarity, great speaker.

love it.
love it.
love it.

motorola beats samsung anyday

Believe this or not, I'm switching to a Rizr from my A1200. Why? Pretty solid battery life for an mp3/camera phone, good old Moto UI thats easy to get used to, feels "right" unlike so many other phones.

The only cons I can see thus far is lack of clock by default(though it will cause many newcomers to explore moto hacking and will get them hooked) and maybe the camera focus(I couldn't test it in good lighting conditions just yet and it seems alright in poor lighting). Let add this- those who complain about the signal should blame their crappy PROVIDER and not the phones(unless tri-band which have enough issues across the board in US).

What are the pros then? First and foremost the battery life. I semi-redlined the music, camera and games for 2 days straight and it was only down 4/notches. The stock DAP(player) isn't nearly as bad as most claim so listening to music is pretty easy and enjoyable. Speaker is fairly loud, but could be just a hint better(haven't hacked it yet, could be exactly what it needs icon_wink.gif ). Fact that the cam is 2 megapix is nice, but the flash is more of a flashlight so I'll assume its only good in pitch dark. The shape is extremely comfortable and the rubbery surface feels very nice.

In the end, I think this is one of the better combination of life+features for a reasonable price unlike all Nokia phones. If you're looking for a quick musical fix and a good camera phone that can live longer than 1 song, this is defently one of them.

After having thephone for a month, I can finally write about its pro's and cons. Before I had this phone I had the motorola V3t; I even wrote a review bout it in the page. But after having that V3t for like bout 4 months and under someone else account. I decided to go on my own account and get a new phone. While I was looking I came across the Motorola Rizr Z3 and was impressed. Not just because it's the only razr slider phone out there in the market, but with it's specs that it included. Let me break down the exterior and the interior.

Exterior -
Screen- Good quality for 246,000 tft you do have a choice in the setting to dim the brightness to a certain extent. The screen is a little smaller than the Razr's therefore the text would be a pinch smaller. (not bad tho)

Keypad - The keypad is the exact style like the Razr's but with a lighter backlight and even more smooth feel around the edges.

Camera - 2.0 Megapixel with flash. For me this is the best camera phone T-mobile has as of right now. While your in the camera mode you have sooooo many options with the light effects, even more than the razr v3t. This time you can change background to a (Black n white, Red, Blue, Green and Antique -to give it a cival warish type of era look- ). The camera is sharp and I can see the difference between a 1.3 mp and a 2.0 mp.

Interior -
Menu - Text are smaller than razr's, the colors around the borders of the menu are different thus giving it a more stylish appearance. The phone has 22.0 mb of memory (stock) you can always add a 4gb sd card.

mp3 - The mp3 player on this phone is different than the razr's. The rizr mp3 player looks more organized, brighter (light colors) sorta looks like you are going through a Ipod. Instead the v3t had a dark blue color and it look sooo plain.

Video - Before I added any type of music or pictures in my sd card, I checked out the length of recording videos. The length was bout 2 hours long! Adding 15 songs, 40 pictures the length reduced to bout 1 hour and 15 minutes. sooo it's all bout what type of SD card and the memory. Honestly ima go buy me a 4gb sd so I won't have any problems of memory shortage.

I would write more about this phone, but i'm in a hurry. This phone is great, no problems. Speaker is fine with good call reception. I mean you know it's all up to you. Don't make a decision just becaUSE someone say's it's messed up, and a peice of cr**. NO, try it out ya self and you would like it. Both phones are good (V3t and Rizr), lol I just prefer the all sliding thing more I guess. TRust me it's a good phone icon_razz.gif

I traded my Nokia 5300 for the Motorla rizr and im so glad I did.

with the Nokia 5300 I was scared to be too "rough" when sliding it open for the fact that it felt like it would break at any second icon_confused.gif . With the Rizr I feel safe that i can just slide it back and forth and it will be perfectly fine. It definately feels more durable than the Nokia.

The camera on the Rizr I would have to say is better than the Nokia by far I mean the picture quality in the end was sort of the same but with the Rizr I actually got a quick image, the Nokia had like a whole 5 second delay that was just not cool.

The Rizr is a little bit less loud than the Nokia 5300 but it wasnt too much of a difference. The talk time on the Nokia 5300 was really depressing. It says it gives about 3.5 hours of talk time but it would start dying on me really quick. The Rizr on the other hand has 3-6 hours of talk time but if you want to save the battery for it just dont listen to your music and stuff and youll make it last.

Texting feels perfectly fine on the Rizr it is a change from the Nokia phones since Ive had Nokia for son long but just like every other phone you just have to get used to it I dont think the way the buttons are on the Rizr will really have an effect on my text messaging "skills"

I was very hesitant to make the change at first since I had my heart set on the Nokia 5300 but like I said Im glad I did after trying out both phones for myself I was able to make the right choice. icon_wub.gif

I bought a Rizr for myself and Razrs for my kids. After less than three months, the central pieces on the top slider, including the wheel, select button, and the thumb-flip plastic piece, are attached with nothing more than glue. The glue has degraded so much it seems to have melted off, and the pieces are no longer attached (no, the phone was never left in a hot car). Motorola does not supply replacement parts for these items. In order to get the phone repaired, I'm required to send it in, and it will take a week to 10 days to fix it.

I'm pretty happy with the phone except for this problem. It makes the phone seem cheap and shoddy. I wish I'd gotten a Razr for myself. The teenagers are giving them a beating and they're holding up fairly well.

dear all:

i finally got a chance to play with this phone today, long enough to write up a few pointers to people considering this phone. I must admit when i first found out about this phone i was hyped, i thought it was amazing from all the features i read about. before this phone, i had wanted the nokia 5300. When i actually compared them though, i realized that in the long run, the nokia 5300 would end up pleasing me A LOT more. heres why:

1) Although the rizr has a beautiful design and firm slide, the nokia is also very nice too, its a little bigger but its different and stands out. A lot of people have been complaining about the cheap material the nokia is made out of, and that the slider isnt firm, but honestly its completely fine. the slider wiggles around very little when closed, but when I tested out the rizr and the t629, they both shook around just as much. The nokia feels good in your hands, and the material is absoultely fine.

2)sound quality icon_surprised.gif : holy crap, the nokia blew me away when i heard the sound quality of ringtones and the quality of the sound when playing recorded videos. The rizr was measly and poor quality compared to the nokia, almost half as lound and clear. I was a little dissapointed with the rizr when i heard this, but oh well.

3) camera, ok i know it says 2 megapixel, but on the phone it makes no difference. seriously, the nokia 5300 is 1.3 mp and it was actually way better than the rizr due to its qvga screen. the only thing about camera on the rizr that beat the nokia is the fact that it had a flash, that was really nice, but still with all the advantages the nokia has over the rizr i dont think it matters anyways.

4) UI: the ui on the rizr compared to the nokia is sluggish and slow. the nokia is extremely user friendly and it is more responsive and tactile. i guess i could talk about the text messaging in this category. the rizr's texting uses the traditional motorola system, iTAP, which really sucks. seriously i kno people say that you get used to it, but i had a motorola for 1 year and a half and i never got as good as texting as i did on my previous samsung. the nokia's texting is almost the same as samsung maybe even better, but its definetly better than the rizr or any motorola in general.

yeah so thats basically it, just wanted to tell ya'll about some of the things i noticed. i guess this comment is basically telling you guys that if you're looking for a slider phone and ur with tmobile, get the nokia 5300 over the rizr. i kno at first glance the rizr seems a little more slick, but in realilty the nokia is way more practical and easy to use. oh yeah and its really personalizable so u'll have fun with that. aite people, good luck with ur phones.
