NEC 515 User Reviews

I am probably the last post you will ever see on the NEC 515. Why? becasue it just isn't going to be around. The phone is not what it should be.

I love the features. My daughter calls, her picture pops up on the screen. I can save her home and cell numbers untder the same phone listing (are you listening Motorola? my 505 can't do that) It can handle syncs with informaiton with optional data cable.

So why don't I care for it?

Network reception issues. While in Mexico recently my wife daughter and I all had our phones a v505, v180 and the nec515. We were all using the same company (ATT/Cingular) SIM cards. the Motorolas could roam while the NEC was picking up 2 random networks that didn't appear on our phones and which would not allow any other than emergency usage. Why? who knows, but the NEC has done that in other markets. Wouldn't pick up in Italy last week either despite being manyally set to the 900/1800 band (another minus manual setting is required)

It uses battery big time though I suspect hat the large screen format may have something to do with it.

So the long and short, Features are fantastic, phone sucks.
