This phone (Nokia 3589i) is the most reliable cell phone (with verizon service) I ever owned. It never drops a call, even in remote areas (Such as 23/27 miles out at sea, using analog of course, the deep parts of the poconos) But the phone does have some thing that are a little annoying.

Pros:
Reception: Droped 2 calls in the last 2 years or so.

Battery Life: I use this phone everyday. It last about 2 days with heavy use.

Screen: Big fonts, EASY, and understandable UI (user interface) very bright to!

Tough: This thing is like a Mac truck. I droped it, hit it, threw it, submerged it in a pool, fell out of a second floor window. It still works.

Preset profile settings: One for vibrate, silent, no calls (Sends call to voice mail on arrival) loud, and soft.

T9 Text messaging: Add your own words, and it is the BEST thing to text with. I can 'tap' as fast as I can type.

LOUD Alarm clock: Someone in my household thought it was a smoke alarm. This also goes for the ringtones when on the LOUD profile.

Ringtones: Downloaded ones sound pretty good. One preloaded are not bad at all.

Phonebook system: You can add notes, address, e-mails, and web address!

Organizer: Works great, you can add birthdays, (reminders every year!) meetings, call, memo, and reminders too.

Voice Recorder: Nice feature to have.

VAD (Voice Activated Dialing): I record the name, set the defult number for the name, and works perfect!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cons:

No Speakerphone

Screen is low quality

Internet is not good. At all.

Blue & silver verizon case look ULGY! Get a black aftermarket one (KEEP THE PLASTIC KEYPAD!)

Case that came with it, is an advertisement magnet. Saids "Verizon Wireless" about 20 times.

GREAT Business phone. has ALOT of cool business features on it, would look better with an aftermarket case though. The fact that it has games, ringtones, and all that stuff it would be a good phone for teens also.

I had a LG 4400B for three months and had nothing but problems with it - lots of dropped calls. In fact the last two weeks I had the phone ALL my calls were either dropped or didn't get through. Enter the Nokia 3589i. I've had this phone for two weeks and not one dropped call and all the calls have gotten through. It's not as "sleek" as the LG 4400B and doesn't have as many bells and whistles but IT WORKS. I did a lot of searching on the web and beacuse this phone has three antennas it's far more lilkely to pick up and retain a signal - even in my area (upstate New Yor near Saratoga), which is not very good. The reception on this phone is, so far, great.

All I wanted was a phone I could talk on and it looks like I've got it.

My wife and I both had the 3589i phone on Verizon for the past two years, ILoved the phone for it's sturdiness (dropped it MANY times. Only occasional dropped calls, though. I did not like having to buy anything on needed on the phone like ringtones or games. The main negative I had on the phone was the number 6 key, it would refuse to work at times and I had to press really hard to get the number or letters mno to work. This happened with both my phone and my wife's phone (coincidence, I say not!)

It was a good friend, but now I have a new one!

I would recomend it if you want a good dependable phone but check the keypad for sticky keys.

I love this phone! My sister had this phone and she went to WI for the summer and I got to have it for the summer! It never droped my calls and always had good reception in Verizon areas. My sister has it now but I am going to get a new one because I liked it so much. The only bad part is that it doesnt come with any games and you have to buy them. But other than games i think it is an excellent phone and i had no problems with it. icon_biggrin.gif

This phone is pretty cool. I don't like it as much as The SCH a650 by samsung though. My pap has this Nokia, it has EXLENT reception. It's sleek looking, and NEVER drops a call, like the 8910 by Audiovox ( don't waste your time on that) i think this is a good business phone. It suites jus about anyone though. But the screen quality isn't that great. icon_wink.gif

I have heard that the reception on this phone is AWESOME!! The color quality on it is not the greates but hey its color and fro $29.99 or at some locations free. . . its not a bad buy!!
