Nokia 5310 XpressMusic User Reviews

When I first purchased the Nokia 5310 Xpress music phone, I was impressed with the fun features and compact size. Since buying it a year ago I have had to replace it through T-mobile's insurance company three times, paying about 40 dollars each time. The main problem with the phone is cosmetic because the aluminum panels on the side seem to fall off frequently and are hard to replace by hand. With the exterior mp3 buttons now missing on my 3rd copy of this phone I have to manually access my music through the menu options. Not impressed with the quality of this phone and would not recommend it for people on the go who don't have time to baby their phones.

My criteria for my phone was: loudness and ease of use.

Loudness. At the T-Mobile store, the salesman confirmed that this phone has the loudest volume (regular and speakerphone use). Voices are natural. Speakerphone is exceptionally loud.

Ease of use. Solid buttons, nice size. clear bright screen, good menu system, dedicated volume buttons.

Frills: plays music loaded on microSD card. Nice dedicated music buttons and uses std. 1/8" headphone jack.

Shortcomings: battery life is poor: must be recharged every day vs. every 3 days w/ my old Nokia. Using speakerphone to play music kills battery very very quickly. Camera picture quality is only fair.
