Nokia 6133 User Reviews

I have read many of the reviews here, and my phone has the same problems as everyone elses has, but my phone does one more thing that I haven't read anyone else's doing.

Sometimes whenever I am sending a text message, or am on T-Zones, my phone just suddenly goes to a white screen and slowly comes back to the main screen, where my fave 5 and title and stuff is. If it happened every once in a while that wouldn't bother me, but it does it constantly and can be a huge hindrance.

The cam button on the side was an awful idea.

And yes, the battery is just terrible.

Plus the sound quality, when I sound like I have a voice changer over my mouth trying to talk to someone else. This happens frequently and I hate having to redial.

I have had my 6133 for 6 months now. Overall I am very satified with it's quality and features.

Things I like:
1. Micro SD storage. This allows me to store hundreds of songs, pictures, and videos with great ease. I also like that it is well protected under the battery cover. I don't have to worry about someone messing with it or taking it while looking at or using my phone. It also allows me to take long video's vs the 16 sec standard on most phones. Great for making myspace videos ect.

2. Camera/Camcorder. Yes, the picture quality leaves something to be desired in low lighted situations. I have had no problems with it when lighting was at appropriate levels. AND it is a far cry better than the VGA cameras that I have had in the past. I also love that you can turn the picture sideways on the phone to get the full shot. The camcorder is great. You are even able to zoom in and out while shooting. I was able to shoot a baby dedication and send it to her daddy overseas in the war. This is only possible if you are using a Micro SD card for memory. I appreciate that you can change your settings to record at different qualities for as long as you want (or you have room on your card). Great in situations where it is a pain to heave a camcorder around.

3. MP3 player. I really enjoy having my favorite MP3's right on my phone. (A tip and trick for those using it: if you want to get more on there AND use your songs for ringtones, change your file format to WMA. The phone WILL allow you to use WMA files for ringtones, plus you can fit more on your memory card.) Right now I have 250 songs (512MB CARD at 63% used) stored and this is awesome for working out at the gym or just chillin'. The provided headphones work well when you tweek the equalizer. Only draw back for me here is when you close the phone, you have to go back through all the menu's to get to ithe player to change your equalizer settings or switch song folders.

4. Screens. They are incredible! The quality and clarity are undeniable even in bright sun situations. I have loved them since the day the phone got here. I was worried about the inside screen being unprotected at first, but after 6 months, I have had no problems with that at all. It is quite reliable and tough. I also appreciate that T-MOBILE finally wised up and put their name stamp up to the left of the screen instead of smack dab in the middle where it is annoying!

5. Call quality. I have owned almost every brand of phone, and none can compair with Nokia's reception and quality. I don't ever drop calls. Even out in the sticks with little reception the quality is clear and calls don't drop. I tend to have 4-5 bars where others with the same and with different carriers have 2-3.

6. Bluetooth. This has incredible bluetooth ease of use. I transferred 250 songs onto this phone in about 10 min. Most of that time was me trying to find what I wanted to put on there. My phone is connected to my computer using a Jabra A320s Bluetooth Adaptor. This eleminates the need for cords or USB cables of any kind. I can transfer photos, videos, and music with little effort and time required. Once I learned how to use the Nokia PC Suite, these actions became quite easy to do. The sound quailty for the headset it wonderful as well. I do have to say it is much clearer with my Plantronics headset than it is with my Motorolla headset. (Note: you CAN listen to your MP3 player with the bluetooth headset, but the quality is reduced unless you have the appropriate bluetooth "headphones")

There are very few things I would do to change this phone. I would add a flash for low light situations. I would make battery life a little better (I charge it about every 2 days). I would make the MP3 player a little easier to get to. Other than these things, the phone is very usable and reliable. A good buy in my opinion.

Just got my new Nokia 6133 a few days ago. So far I love it, but I have to give you the full review here. I've been with T-Mobile for quite awhile and have previously used Samsungs (Horrible experiences), Motorolas (Not bad, surprisingly), and Nokias--my favorite. Nokias are tried and true, often very dependable. Here's what I think (so far):

Pros:

-Incredible Screen, it's HUGE and crystal clear
-Dependable and user-friendly Nokia interface, never ever a bad thing, you'll never open a manual for it.
-Expandable memory
-1.3 MP camera
-Decent amount of video capability
-Flip open button--very cool feature, not often seen on any phone
-The best looking Nokia I have ever seen to date, and probably the best looking phone on the market right now, in my opinion
-Awesome reception
-Very compact and lightweight
-Fairly reasonable price
-MP3 Player

Cons:

-It's true--this battery life is nowhere near the usual Nokia we're used to. Two days, tops. Probably because it's loaded with features, though.
-Somewhat flimsy feeling compared to other Nokias that were incredibly durable.
-Camera isn't great, but it's a huge upgrade from a VGA camera many phones still have right now. Works fine for novelty pics.
-Keys feel a little weird, a bit hard for texting, but not impossible.

I would say overall, this is an awesome phone. There's just a few things holding it back. I think Nokia is on the right track, and they got a lot closer with this phone to what I'd like to see from them. I would go with this phone any day over a Samsung/Moto/Sony...etc. Nokia makes very high quality products and this phone shows just that. I'd give this phone a 12 out of 10 if it had a better battery life and was more durable feeling, BUT...since that is not the case, I would give it a solid 8.5 to 9 out of 10. Buy this phone, you won't regret it.

Screens come first. Both the main display and mini display are gorgeous. I have this thing for high resolution display, and this phone is great in that. (Watch out for Nokia N75, too!). BUT, there is no protection for the screen!

When closed, the phone looks really cool. I had a Sharp TM 150. Compared to that, this phone looks much better when closed. When flipped open, my Sharp phone looked MUCH better - from keypad design to screen position. The keys a little difficult to use. The screen could be a bit longer to give the phone a much better look. The 'Back' options on screen, and the flip-open button are designed for someone who'd hold the phone with right hand - not the perfect for me. The phone feels somewhat cheap and loose, as if some screws are not tightened well.

Call quality is decent. I've tried making calls to the same person sitting at the same place, from my Sharp handset and this one. The Sharp handset performs a little better (both with T-Mobile). The volume and quality of sound fluctuates considerably during calls. The volume is not loud enough even on the loudest setting. But overall it's decent.

The camera is the real bad thing in the phone. My Sharp handset used to capture WAY better photographs with its 1MP camera. But since these cameras are not for any serious use, this shortcoming can be overlooked.

The MP3 player is average (or just below average). Even tho' this is no iPod, the music quality has a lot of room for improvement.

The bluetooth works well and fast. I haven't tried any other mode of data transfer yet.

The software has some minor problems. Sometimes some options are not displayed on the screen whereas at some other times they are displayed! Occasinally some files don't get recognized unless you switch it off and switch on again.

As mentioned in Kent's review, the memory card slot couldn't be worse placed!

The battery life is way below the specified hourage!

There are a lot of features and customization options. Lack of MP3 ringtones can be somehow compensated for by Midi ringtones. Unlike many other phones of this class, this one can be used as a personal organizer effectively.

It is a great phone -- has all the goodies I was looking for.

Expansion is with micro-SD, not mini-SD like the specs above say.
Was able to transfer files with Bluetooth from a Mac Mini no problem.
Haven't tried a PC yet, but the connectivity suite (free download)
looks to have a lot of functionality.

Headphone quality excellent, but the wired headset tangles up
way too easily. Voice recognition spotty.

Have gotten reliable GRPS connections in my area, but haven't seen
EGPRS (EDGE) yet.

Keys are flat, not a great feel to them, but OK. Backlighting adequate,
would have preferred something other than deep blue. FM works
good, but wired headphones need to be plugged in.

Screen is QVGA, blows away just about any other flip-phone display.

External screen has a minor bug, where the digital time display
jumps around, sometimes to the top where it's hard to read.

Phone rates an A+ for all the features they managed to cram in there.
Contruction seems a little delicate, rough handling could destroy the
thing. One-hand flip open operation is nice.

USB was a disappointment, you have to buy a proprietary cable
separately, not even listed by T-Mob yet. I would have preferred
a mini-USB, and a standard headphone jack, but you use the
special port on the top for both. Don't know if it charges from
the USB or not. Bluetooth transferred files at about 70 kby/sec,
so filling up a big memory card isn't practical that way.

Battery is tiny, both physically and capacity-wise. Figure maybe
two days in normal use, quite a comedown from 10 days with
my ancient Nokia. Surfing the web on the phone is as painful
as you'd expect, can't wait to get it all set up with a laptop.

Overall, give the phone 9.5 out of 10. Audio quality is really good,
reception seems good. More features than you'll ever learn to use.
If it were a bit heftier, bigger battery, standard jacks, it would
be off the scale 1-10.

My phones, one only a week old, and another only one month old, both had a button that controled the "flip" action at the hinge. The button broke and the phones are stuck open, breaking the evidently very fragile phones. T-mobile assured me that cell phones, in general, are made more fragile than they used to be made. I enjoyed the clarification. T-mobile will replace the phone at full price. I want to trade my last working phone for another phone before it breaks.
Also, being a left handed person, I keep taking pictures of myself when I am looking at my caller ID.

Pros: Good sound, incredible main display, good mini display, good battery life, good call quality, good keypad, auto key lock, good camera

Cons: not enough customization variety (backlight timer not able to be turned off, power save doesn't always stay off, external camera button is 'too accessible', tricky custom ringtone process

I really love this phone. My only complaints are listed as the 'cons'.

The major complaint for me is the backlight timer and 'power save'. I like having the option to use these features but I'd prefer there to be an option to turn them off completely. The screen dims in 15 seconds (hardly enough time to read a long text message) and powersave (screen goes black after about a minute) does not seem to want to actually be 'off'.

The other major complaint is the placement of the camera button. I'm not alone in the dislike of its placement. My thumb tends to bump it when I least want it to. It's liveable though.

Now, I would not recommend this phone to people who want to use their own MP3s as ringtones UNLESS they know how to edit their own MP3 files or at least convert them to WMA and are willing to spring for a microSD card for extra space (well worth it, by the way). I tried uploading my own WMA files at 64kbps and they were ok. Some were muddled. After getting a microSD card I made 128kbps WMAs and the sound quality is much, much better. Tones that came with the phone were anything but satisfactory.

Camera is good. I even took great photos from a moving vehicle and was very pleased at the outcome. However, trying to take a photo of print on a page does not work well. Ok if in a bind...

Main display is brilliant. I was literally stunned by the quality. Perfect brightness and contrast in my opinion, but unadjustable.

I love the mini display and the customizations for it.

Keypad is very easy to use. I don't find it too slippery. Buttons are perfect size and sensitivity.

Auto key lock is very customizable time-wise and is very VERY useful especially since the camera button is way too accesible. Having the keys locked while the phone is in your pocket/purse is great, and the keys automatically unlock when the lid is opened.

IMPORTANT: THIS PHONE DOESN'T PLAY MP3 RINGTONES! I explain this further bellow.

I saw this phone on T-Mobile's website and immediately fell in love with it despite it being a Nokia phone. I will admit that I have had a bias toward Motorola and have avoided Nokia phones from the beginning. I came across this phone looking for a good PDA/Smart phone/Data phone for T-Mobile. The best phone I found was a third party phone from HP, but when I saw this phone it just grabbed my attention.

The best thing about this phone is that it has some PDA like qualities. It allows you to have an active calander on your phone's desktop with some notes, reminders, and the occasional to-do list (not pictures in any press photos) and shortcuts to your favorite applications, games, or whatever feature the phone has to offer (also not featured in press photos). The full beauty about this active desktop like feature is that it can be fully customized (within reason) and can be turned on and off for those that don't need or want it.

The image quality in the phones displays are bright and colorful. You can fully see the rich texture of the colors in your images. The extended memory slot in the phone allows you to use this phone as your mp3 player or carry many more games, images, movies, and ringtones than the phone can hold. The built in 11Mb of memory the phone comes with is more than enough for the casual phone user and a healthy tease for those looking to do more with their phones. The bluetooth connectivity allows you to add games, ringtones, music, images, and other stuff to your phone without having to pay for it. The music player not only plays mp3's, but also MP3, MP4, AAC, eAAC+, and WMA files.

As I said above, this phone doesn't play mp3 ringtones. That is both true and false at the same time. This phone will play mp3's as ringtones ONLY if they are signed by T-Mobile, meaning if you like paying for your ringtones from your phone carrier then it will play them as ringtones. If you are like me and want to you your own mp3 collection as ringtones then this phone wont play them. It will NOT play them as mp3's, YOU WILL HAVE TO CONVERT THEM TO WMA files in order to them music files are ringtones. To some people that is a lot to ask for, but for me its just a small price to pay in order to get things the way I WANT.

PROS:
Good talk clarity
Expandable memory
Sleek design - very light weight yet super sturdy
Very High screen resolution (16,000,000 colors at 320 x 240 px main screen | 262000 colors at 128 x 160 px mini screen)
Amazing speaker quality when using headphones
MP3 Player with equalizer built in!
FM radio!
Good battery
Included headset
Blue-tooth Music-Player
Flips open with a push of a button
Best camera quality I've seen in a cell phone
Video caller-ID
Better Reception with this phone than any other T-Mobile phone ever before
Very good back-light for the keypad.

Cons:
Good battery - Al thought the battery life is a lot better than they report it still leaves more to be desired.
Can set analog and digital clock on inside, but only digital on the outside (mini screen) for only a small amount of time.

This is truly the best phone that T-Mobile has out and will have out for a long time. If anyone out there is sitting on the fence debating whether or not to buy this phone - just do it! The pro's severely outweigh the cons on this phone. Granted this phone still has some issues, you will be far more amazed by what it does do than what it can't do. Do yourself a favor and buy the phone.

I hate to say this, but after having the Nokia 6133 for 11 days, I will be taking it back. Luckily, I'm within the allowed window of 2 weeks so I can get my money back. Many who read this will probably wonder why I would take such a cool phone back. Well...

There are far too many things about this phone that bother me, enough to outweigh keeping it. First and foremost--the battery life. Apparently that amazing screen is TOO amazing. Even with semi moderate use, this phone needs to be charged early and often. I've found myself charging it as much as other phones I've had--the only problem is I had the old phones for at least 10-12 months before the battery was this bad. I'm not even talking heavy use here, I've maybe talked about 1.5-2 hours a day at most and use a normal amount of picture/video/texts. This battery is a HUGE obstacle to get past. Unless you send a few texts per day and talk less than 30 minutes, you won't make it more than a day and a half without charging. Tops.

Next, another huge one--my friend also has this phone and the hinge is incredibly fragile, much more than I first realized. His hinge is completely shot after 4 weeks. He needs a new phone already, and I can feel mine starting to get loose. Buyer beware, this phone won't stay shut once that button goes, it's very spring loaded. Also, this phone is just very fragile in general. This isn't the Nokia you're used to...

Another bothersome feature is that there is a button for the camera on the outside of the phone. If there's anything else in your pocket (or purse I suppose) besides this phone, it will often snap pics on its own, so you'll sometimes get 5 or 6 pics of just blackness. Yes, I know you can lock all of the keys on a timer--but at the same time this is still a very poorly planned feature.

Last (but certainly not least since I couldn't stand to keep the phone any longer...) the charger port on the new generation of Nokias is very disappointing, not nearly as strong and reliable as the old Nokias.

I must withdraw what I said when I first got this phone. I will probably just go back to my old Motorola V330 or Nokia 6010--both served me well. Nothing fancy but they sure beat the Nokia 6133 hands down.

Very disappointed, I thought this was going to be quite impressive, but I was very wrong...

This phone is not a total piece of crap, but it doesn't have too far to go. I just upgraded my T-Mobile account and originally bought the new Motorola W490. I went against my gut to get it and almost immediately returned it, instead choosing the Nokia 6133.

I originally really liked it because it's simple and the camera takes really good quality pictures. The reason I picked out the Motorola first was because it supports mp3 ringtones, which this Nokia doesn't. It does have a music player, but you can't do anything else with the files.

Like the other posts have said, the battery life on this phone is crap. Last night, I charged it overnight. Today I have taken a few pictures, made about 10 five minute phone calls, and sent about five text messages. It is now 9:30 p.m. and the battery is about 1/3 gone.

The camera button on the side of the phone is extremely sensitive and half the time when I take the phone out of my purse, the camera is on (or is on standby) and I've taken a whole bunch of pictures of the inside of my pocket.

The flip-open button is a nice feature, but I can already tell the hinge is coming loose (and I've only had the phone about a week). After reading the other reviews, I would almost expect the hinge to break. And what can you do when it does--rubberband the thing shut?

But what really grinds my gears is the sound quality. It is just awful. It sounds like the person on the other line is talking to me on speaker-phone, or like they're holding the phone away from their mouth. Also, there is a consistent static going on in the background--especially when the phone is ringing. The rings sound almost gargled. There are also quite a few clicks and pops that obstruct what the person is saying.

Despite my rantings, there are a few things that are really nice about this phone. The size of the screen and its quality are really nice (though I suppose the huge screen contributes to the battery depletion). The camera also takes really high-quality pictures.

Basically, don't waste your money. I know this review says almost exactly what most of the other ones do, but I really want to take this phone back and right now the T-Mobile store is closed so I had to spend my time doing something.

I've had this phone for a few weeks now. The phone functions work well and I haven't had any signal or audio issues. The only complaints I have is the mp3 ringtone issue (covered in other reviews) and the poor button placement on the exterior of the phone. I constantly end up pushing the camera button when I handle the phone. It is overly large and is placed where my thumb is when handling the phone.

What a great quality phone.

i've had nothing but good experiences with this baby.
the radio is a very very nice feature and the music player is too

the mega pixel camera is very very useful and it has a bunch of different resolutions. there is a pretty good photo editor on there too. the camera could get way better quality

the phone quality could be a lot better for a Nokia. its kinda a metallic sound and sounds very low quality.

the push-to-open button is very useful and its built for durability and even if it fails you can still open it "old fashioned" way. lol
icon_biggrin.gif

the memory car slot is located in a place behind the battery cover but no behind the battery. i thought that this was a better place to put it and its better there that it makes the overall design better.

the charger port is on the top of the phone and its hard to understand why its there. and the headset is in a weird place too. its on the top of the phone and it blocks the camera so you wont be able to use the camera when the headset is plugged in.

well all in all i give this phone a 7.8 because the awkward placed headset jack and charger port and poor call quality. the camera quality could be a lot better using the 16 million color display.

FINALLY a phone that really really makes me happy! I have spent the last month or even more going phone to phone... carrier to carrier trying to find a phone i REALLY liked. I wanted a phone that was very sleek... very good screen resolution, big screen, mp3 player, good camera, good battery, expandable memory, and good talk quality. FINALLY THIS PHONE HAS IT ALL. I REALLY love this phone!.

I went all the way to buying a Tmobile MDA just so i could have a decent phone with lots of features. But it was SO SLOW and Bulky. This phone has all of the features you could ever want without the bulky and slow PDA style to it.

This phone even blew me away, having an FM Radio, and Video-Caller ID built into it. Man i love this phone and have been going crazy trying to find a good one. Not to mention, when in the Music-Player mode (not ringtone mode) the music sound is AMAZING!

Pros:
Good Talk Clarity
Expandable Memory
Sleek Design
Very High screen resolution (main screen 320x sumthin, displaying over 16million colors!
AMAZING Speaker Quality when using headphones
MP3 Player with equalizer built in!
FM Radio!
Good Battery (even tho its only rated like 210 minutes, its more - trust me)
Included Headset
Blue-tooth Music-Player (wirelessly listen to your tunes on a headset)
Flips open with a push of a button... no need to force open
LOTS of wallpapers, games, tones, built it w/ no need to download
Camera Quality is 7/10. VERY good in well-lit area. Semi-Grainy in low to mid-lit areas.
Video caller-ID
Better Reception with this phone than any other tmobile phone ever before
Very good back-light for the keypad.

Cons:
Battery life is good but could always be better
Keypad has a weird blocky look to it
Phone feels sturdy, but keypad feels cheaply made
Camera could be better
Must use the customized Nokia headphones, which are reallllyyy complex and "in the way" alot.
Can set analog and digital clock on inside, but only digital on the outside (external screen).. I wish i could do analog on the outside cuz it looks amazing (you can see what it looks like by turning Analog clock on as the Screensaver and leaving the phone open.

Overall for Features: 9.5 / 10

Overall for Look: 8.7 / 10

Price: ONLY $99 with a new agreement and $199 without it. CHEAP

Overall 9 / 10

I Very Very Very Highly recommend this phone! Try it out and see how you like it. You wont be disappointed

This phone is not for someone who is picky about their phones. It's sleek black design is, however very nice with the exception of the hideous sliver bottom that sticks out when it is closed. The display on the front of the phone is nice except that the phone doesn't provide a way to lighten the screen to check the time. Only by pressing the volume buttons can you do this and you still have to wait for the volume adjustment to go away.

Now the feature (if you can call it that) that really grinds my gears is the camera button on the side. Nokia, what the heck were you thinking? It may sound genius but it's far from it. It seems like when ever I pull it out of my pocket I have to flip it open and close the camera. The slightest touch enables the camera then when you open your gallery you have like 10 black images. What would fix this is the ability to disable the camera button through the settings because the key guard is a pain, You have to flip it open and wait for the little 'Keypad unlocked' to go away. Its just annoying.

Also, the phone seems really fragile. The screen seems loose and the buttons are extremely hard to use. (my top nav button doesnt work anymore.) the phone doesnt seem to fit in my ear as well as other flip phones and not at all as well as a bar phone. If I don't have the phone in that perfect spot I cant hear the person im talking to, extremely annoying. The back plate comes off really easy too. Countless times have I pulled it out of my pocket and had to put it back on then disable the camera too.

Navigation wise the phone isn't bad. there are a lot of menus to go through to get to what you want but the nifty shortcuts take care of that.

Nokia can do a lot better. They seemed to have made simple mistakes like the camera button and not being able to lighten up the front display to check the time. Like I said before, this isn't a phone for a picky person.

How can I begin to describe the Nokia 6133. There are few pros and lots of cons. I love the phone and the features it offers, as far as ringtones, and the camera quality, also the over look of the phone.
~Battery~
I dont like the phone set up and how it was made. I have had my Nokia 6133 for about 2 weeks now, and I too hate to say it but I am taking it back. The battery on this phone is so ridiculous, you cant hold a full charge for more then an hour, seems like I spend more time charger my phone then I do actually using it. My battery life last about 4 hours max on a good day. If I dont talk to anyone text or anything the longest I can hold some kind of charge is 7 hours max.

~LCD Screen~
My LCD screen is fine, but now it is starting to break away from the phone its self. I have not dropped it or anything, the push button on the side its self may look like it wont cause damage, dont be fooled it can ruin yoru whole phone, my phone is so close to being two phones its not even funny and not by me breaking it by pressing and opening it. The phone is seperating as we speak, and now i have to use a busted phone.

~Camera~
The camera has no flash what so ever, you have a night mode on the phone but it hardly works when it is dark. You look like you have a good picture but when you save it and put it as your back ground its all pixelated, the images only come clear when you send the to an e-mail. Your phone is constantly taking pictures even when you dont want it to. The push button for the camera goes off at the slightiest touch. Most times you are taking black pictures. The memory of the pictures is TERRIBLE.I have 12 pictures on my phone now and thats it. I had to delete my games and my themes to actually store that much.

~The phone its self~
The phone is nice, yes i love it one of the nicest phones out there the quality of it is terrible def.. not a phone i would reccomend i hate it. period I have had many Nokia's this by far is the worst. everything on this phone is bad. My mirror type things surrounding the phone is all scratched from the phone its self opening and closing, the Lcd screen shifts back and fourth. It a nice Quad band phone but as of now, sadly i think i was happier with my Razor.

Do NOT buy this phone. It looks nice, has good features.but everything just falls short. this phone is SO close to being a great phone, but in reality it is a terrible phone. first of all, the battery life is atrocious (1-2 days) even if you don't use the phone at all. the camera is decent, but the button is placed in a weird spot so it seems like i accidentally hit the button every time i take the phone out of my pocket. the backlight stays on for a full minute after you stop using the phone, and you can't adjust this. the phone randomly calls people for no reason when it is closed. the screen is huge, yet it isn't really used for anything and the text is really small so the screen is wasted. the autoflip feature is actually really cool, although it does make the phone a bit flimsy at the hinge (but its still a good feature). the music player is nothing special, it basically acts as an ipod shuffle (playlists don't work). the music software for the PC doesn't actually work well, so you have find another way to get the files onto the microSD card. voice recordings are limited to 1 minute, even if you have space available.

the best thing about this phone is the signal reception. i get reception in many more places that i didn't w/ my previous phones. and the camera is decent.

stay away from this phone. it's really disappointing, because with minor modifications it would be a great phone. i've heard updating the software w/ non-tmobil helps make it better, but i don't know how.

I received this phone as a gift in December (2006). I have owned the phone for 5 months and cannot use it anymore because it does not work. I would like to let other people know so they maybe do not waste their money on what I feel is a poorly manufactured piece of equipment.

The first problem I had with the phone was the sound quality. My previous phone was a Samsung and the first time I used this Nokia I could tell that there was something wrong with what I was hearing. I frequently have to change the volume while I am talking to people to be able to understand and hear them. I did not have this problem with previous phones so I am pretty sure it is not my ears that have the problem. Also, within two months of receiving and using the phone, I started having problems with call connections - or the sound quality of the calls I placed. At least once or twice a week, I make a call that I have to end and redial because my voice is so distorted that the person on the other end cannot understand what I am saying. This has happened with different phone types and different carriers and I did not have it before so again, I assume it is the problem with the Nokia phone.

The charger connection with the phone is horrible. The plug does not stay in the phone. I cannot charge the phone in my car where the cord is stretched out, because it just pulls the plug out of the phone. There have been many nights that I plugged the phone in expecting it to charge while I slept and I woke up in the morning to find that the phone had gotten slightly jostled and displaced the plug just enough for it not to charge. I have now learned that I have to place it just right and somewhere that it will not move to make sure that it actually charges but as of tonight, it is not recognizing that it is plugged in to charge at ALL. The battery is going to die and I will not be able to use the phone. I have tried turning it on and off and all the other tricks I know and it will not work.

That is one reason I cannnot use the phone anymore. The other is because it no longer recognizes my SIM card. I called t-mobile about this problem last night - I kept having a message randomly pop up and say, SIM card registration failed. It was not causing any problems, I just wanted to see what it meant and they told me it was because I had an older SIM card. As soon as I got off the phone with them, it started acting even worse, kicking off calls and not recognizing the SIM card for longer periods of time where I could not place a call or text message. If your phone turns off, you cannot even turn it on without the SIM card. I got my SIM card replaced today and two hours ago, the phone started telling me AGAIN that it could not recognize the SIM card.

My sister paid almost $200 for a piece of junk from Nokia that lasted less than 6 months. I have written Nokia a letter and am extremely disappointed with them. I wanted this phone because I remembered how user friendly their phones were and I wanted the camera on it but I now wish I had stuck with a Samsung (what I just purchased from t-mobile).

I can't believe I fell for the hype and actually bought this turkey. I had heard so much from people who have Nokias as to the quaility. Well this is not one of those phones. First the camera button is on the outside where a person would normally grab thier phone which results in constantly having to open the phone and turn the camera off. Secondly the software is just a tad convoluted making the simplest tasks harder than they should be. Thirdly and perhaps the most outrageous thing is you can't use music that you have paid for as ringtones. I can't believe I went down from a Motorla V-3 to this thing. Total disapointment. I'm selling this as fast as I can and going back to motorola.
