I had recently gone through three terrible Samsung Sch-A850. After the third one, verizon let me purchase a new phone at a 2-year price. It was slim pickin's for my budget, but managed to find this phone reasonable. The non-verizon user interface is what really drew me in.
User Interface
The nokia interface is excellent. Definately a step in the right direction for cell phone users. It is friendly and has fun icons that make understanding the menus a whole-lot easier.
The battery and signal strenth icons are on the side of the screen rather than the top. This is not that much of a con, it just takes some getting used to.
Design
I never thought a nokia bar could be so light. Not to mention so small. It easily fits in my hand and the screen is very large. The screen is very easy to read in sunlight, and so far (after 2 drops) has no been scratched.
The keypad is smaller than ost phones, but just takes some getting used to. There is also a joystick that is very sensitive to movement. It can be a pain in the brain sometimes.
Camera
The camea is great and has excellent resolution. It is definately better than my A850. It easily adjusts to lighting conditions and also has a great video recorder.
The camera takes a fairly long time to load. You might miss what you wanted to take a picture of
Other Features
This phone has great ringtones and wallpapers as well. IT GETS EXCELLENT RECEPTION
Overall this phone is excellent for the fun and friendly phone user. It is definately worth more than the list price!

This phone is very good and I HIGHLY recommend it. Okay it's camera is very sharp and it takes very nice videos.
Who cares that it doesnt have bluetooth technology.
Great speakerphone
Great Ringtones
Easy to use.
Can take up to 2 minutes and 30 secs of video
Only 70 dollars on www.verizonwireless.com
You can record songs and other things up to 3:00 minutes and if you like you can have your own playlist.
FM radio
Overall this is a great phone and if you are hesitant to buy it just because it's not a flip phone and you're paranoid, well i feel sorry for you buddy.

My 2 years with my LG VX4400 and I was looking for a new phone and the Nokia 6236i caught my attention. I always used flip phones and thought I'd try a bar out. The 6236i had everything that I was looking for: camera, speakerphone, and a few extras I thought I'd like (FM tuner, iR port). It's also an attractive looking phone.
First off, I should say that I've owned TWO Nokia 6236is. The first I bought had a bad screen (off center and tilted) so I got another one.
This phone is small, and when I say small I mean SMALL! I have small hands for a man of 6' and this phone is even too small for me. I used the phone over a 4 day period and I can't see talking on it for more than 15 min. w/o your hands cramping up. Also, the instructions ask that you not place your fingers on the top back of the phone because that's where the antenna is, so you have to hold it with your thumb and 2 fingers towards the bottom... bad ergonomics.
The speakerphone is so bad that I think Nokia should remove it altogether. The speaker isn't loud enough if you're in the car and the mic kept breaking up my voice.
The reason that made me return the phone for another model was the keypad. The best way to describe the way the keys are built is that they're sorta like a laptop's keyboard, a stalk with a wobbly key sitting on top of it. If it was on a flip phone I think they'd be okay, but out in the open on a bar phone I don't think the keys will last 2 years. Because the keys have a wobble built into them it was easy to catch a corner of an adjacent key with your finger, I'd assume that if you kept this phone in your pocket with anything else you'd run the risk of breaking one of the keys off.
PROS
Looks - if that matters to you
iR port - was easy to transfer address book entries from my Palm to the phone (although one at a time)
FM radio - if you're looking for that
CONS
Way too small
Terrible speakerphone
Fragile feeling keys
Summary
If you're a woman with small hands this phone's size may be okay for you... anyone else I'd stear clear. Forget the speakerphone if that's what you're looking for. If you buy this phone, plan on buying some sort of holster, I don't think it'll last too long in your pocket or floating in a purse.

So I've had the 6236i for a bit and I wanted to enhance the multimedia capabilities of the phone. My wife suggested JuiceCaster, which she uses for the Flutter app on her iPhone.
Free SMS picture messaging, posting content to the internet - all that jazz.
Definitely worth checking out JuiceCaster if you're trying to step it up with this phone.

Hey,
I like this phone for a bunch of reason, basically a one piece phone that also takes great pics and videos. I found the fact that it has no bluetooth a bit of a problem sometimes, but my carrier had a program called JuiceCaster which basically lets you share videos and pics with others, so that is what I now use for sharing those types of files. My carrier is at&t
The phone itself is very hardy, which I like, as I can be pretty rough on a phone. Since its not one of those flip phones, I recommend that you get a case for it so that you don't press the buttons and what not when its in your pocket / purse. I also recommend that you don't use the speaker phone in the car as you'll just have to repeat yourself over and over. The bad speaker phone and lack of bluetooth makes this not a good choice for those of you who break that law and talk while your burn gas.
