Nokia 8801

Reviewer: TERRANCE46 on Sun Jul 02, 2006

This is a great handset. I purchased it directly from Nokia and use it on the Cingular network. One difficulty is the absence of support for the phone. Since Cingular does not have it in its database of phones, there is no help there. As a T-Mobile phone, I assume T-Mobile will offer support. I considered moving my service to T-Mobile thinking it would enable me to use email directly on the phone. Wrong! The phone is well worth the price. The stainless steel casing makes it feel truly sturdy and viewing items on the screen is remarkable because of the higher resolution. One problem is smudges - you will find yourself constantly cleaning both the screen and the casing. I considered switching to T-Mobile until I realized that in my area , the phone actually is operating on the 850 frequency via Cingular vs the 1900 frequency of T-Mobile. Hence, there was no reason to switch. This phone is not for everybody. But it you want a reliable sturdyt hadset with a good resolution and bluetooth and can handle sticking out in a crowd then you cannot go wrong with this device.
