If you are looking for a stylish phone and plan on using the AT&T software and data plans then this is a GREAT PHONE, but if you plan on using third party software and WiFi then AVOID this phone at all costs.
Let me start by saying that this is not my first "smart phone" but it is my first Symbian "smart phone." On Windows based phones the AT&T software is easily worked around, but on this phone it is in the way at every turn. I am not sure if AT&T is just getting better at blocking non AT&T functions, or if Symbian is just more susceptible to their blocking. I have "media net" blocked on my account, and use WiFi instead, since Media net was blocked, I have been unable to connect to IM via WiFi, and browsing the Internet takes several workarounds. Also the "dual screen" function available on the E71 has been disabled on the E71x.
Don't get me wrong, I love the style and possibilities of this phone, but for my needs the E71x is a crippled phone. After less than a week the E71x is getting returned and is being replaced with the unlocked E71. So as you can see I really LOVE the phone, I just HATE the "crippleware" installed on it.
Let me reiterate that this is a GREAT phone for people totally tied to the AT&T network, but for the more "independent" user JUST SAY NO!

I could not disagree more! This is my first Nokia and my first PDA phone after eight years with Mororola. It's small, sleek, and powerful the battery life is awesome and my reception is amazing! The Wi-fi is amazing and the 3G web browser is very strong if Wi-fi is not available. It took me a while to get rocking on this phone and three weeks into it I am still finding out cool features the phone has(it can read your e-mails to you)
For the price and its compact design this phone is a cant miss!
