Released for Verizon Wireless, the Samsung Alias is a variant to the popular Samsung U740. Offering essentially the same functions and features as the U740, the Alias integrates the familiar dual-hinge design but is packaged in a silver finish and features an updated full-QWERTY keyboard, making the phone ideal for sending text messages and emails. When consumers open the Alias vertically, it becomes a sleek clamshell. Opened horizontally, and its QWERTY keyboard is revealed to show its new color-defined numbers and letters. In addition to sending text messages, consumers can use Wireless Sync to synchronize their phones with their home or office PCs for access to email, calendar, contacts and task information. The horizontal view is ideal for multimedia features such as VCAST Music and Video services.
