Low Battery Again!?
Reviewer: mlauret on Fri Mar 23, 2007
After owning this phone and playing around with all the features, I am thoroughly impressed with the capabilities of the phone.
Unfortunately, it comes with a very big drawback. For some reason Samsung didn't take into consideration that people will be using a number of different features on their phone at any given time. Due to this, they didn't give us enough battery life. Though you can use push email, you can sinc your phone to your computer via bluetooth, you can listen to music, you can Chat using your different messengers, you can edit files, you can take pictures, you can take movies, you can surf the web at DSL speeds, etc. YOU CAN'T DO IT FOR LONG! In my experience, using one or more of these features (ie. internet and music, or IM and bluetooth, etc.) will drain your battery in less than 90 minutes. With the extended battery you will probably last about 2-3 hours.
The point being, unless you want to be plugging in to a wall socket or your car cigarette lighter every few hours , you might want to reconsider this phone. With the regular battery and average use (using standby and power saving options), you can expect to have about 4-6 hours of battery life. If you have the extended battery, you can expect 7-9 hours. If you are a media freak (like yours truly) you can expect much less time.
Good Luck With Your Decision!

Samsung Blackjack

BEWARE! I was so excited about this phone but Cingular has pulled a fast one and sold a phone WITHOUT all the features working. One of the most important features I was looking for was the push technology for email. After three days of failure to sync we found out that the phone's firmware does not yet support this technology. Sure we can set it up as a POP3 until it is available BUT I feel that it's dishonest to sell something that clearly Cingular knows is not yet working. Samsung says they have released the firmware and it's up to Cingular to now do something with it.
Others in my company got the Motorola Q (Sprint) and their phones were setup and ready to go (with Push technology!) in just minutes without even the help of an IT person.
Shame on Cingular for releasing a product prior to its capabilities being active! Bad, bad, bad!
