Released for Verizon, the Samsung Continuum is the first smartphone with a dedicated ticker display, which provides up-to-the-minute news, sports, finance and social networking updates. The device runs on Google's Android 2.1 platform and features a large 3.4-inch touch screen display and a 1.8-inch ticker display that streams in real time. The Continuum also includes a 1-gigahertz Hummingbird chip, a 5.0-megapixel camera with high-definition video recording and Google services like Google Search, Gmail and Google Maps.

Verizon today said it will begin selling the Samsung Continuum, an Android-based smartphone with a unique ticker display, on November 18 for $200 with a two-year contract.
