Samsung Rugby Phone Experience

I work outside and I'm am on and off equipment all the time and carry my cell in a shirt pocket, a jacket or pants. A friction fit belt clip just doesn't get it. They get knocked off too easily. After 3 years my old Nokia finally had it's antenna come loose although the phone still worked.
Two months ago (August 09'),I opted for AT&T's Samsung Rugby in bright yellow and black. The phone has a great screen so one can enlarge the text for us old folks. The keys are larger than my old Nokia and that's good for my large fingers that get misdirected.
The problem with the phone is while in my shirt pocket one day I cracked the outside screen on the flip top. I don't even know when or how. Now I'm having volume problems and since the speaker is in the flip top, I am assuming the crack top is affecting the audio volume. It is never the same and fluctuates during a conversation. Also, after this short time of owning the phone the lid hinge has almost a 1/4 inch of flex side to side.

How this phone was ever accepted by the military to qualify as a rugged phone, I can't understand. Consumer Report didn't exactly give it high praises either.

I like a big phone and this is a very nice size. Good price.
Easy to use menus, really like the pop up feature
Very good reception and clarity, Bluetooth V2 is excellent
3 G connectivity is very fast
This is a powerful phone and I have not used all its features yet
I do not know if it is as rugged as the marketing states, time will tell. The body is made of a very nice composite that has a slightly rubberized feel . The phone feels very solid.

Cons: The main screen could be a lot larger, there is plenty of room
The ringtone volume is a bit low.
No voice dialing and only 9 speed dials available. Not too much of a problem for me as I use the ATT Voice Dial feature.
I would like the ability to change the fonts in more displays other than the dialing display
None of these are deal breakers.
