Dissappointing?
Reviewer: tam0312trina on Tue Sep 19, 2006
When I saw this phone online and in the store in January 2005 I loved it, because it was so cute. It's very petite and girlie in appearance just like me. But after getting into its functions I was so dissappointed.
To Start:
Ringtones: You can download real music tones, but the phone holds a very short duration of play time before the ringtone starts over again. After the first 5 to 8 seconds of the song played it started over again. I figured it was just cingular's real tones, but I tried to go to other sites and the same thing happened, if I could even download a real tone at all. Majority of the sites did not support my phone for real tones. I thought it was because the phone had just came out and that the companies had not made real tones for it yet, but it's been about 2 years now and I still cant get a real tone from the same companies, not even 3G for Free.
Games: After a downloading two games and erasing them I could not download anymore.
The screen: Downloading nice wallpaper was unneccessary considering there is so much writing on the screen you can't even see the wallpaper. I tried to find out how to remove the text, but you can't.
This phone was so cute that I thought it would be a fun phone, you know games, ringtones, and wallpaper, but it turned out that I wasted a lot of money downloading things that I really could not enjoy. The vibrate+melody alert type sucks, because it vibrates for the first three rings then the melody plays. If the phone is not touching you or sitting on a hard surface in a room that is not too loud, then it does not allow you enough time to answer it before it goes to voicemail, no matter how long you set the voicemail delay. And the ringtone is so low only a few ringtones play loud, but whatever tones you choose for the alarm, "Thank God", plays loud enough.
I really hate this phone. There are a whole lot more things about this phone that I dont like but I just don't have the time or space.

Great inexpensive phone.

The Samsung C207 is a great phone for a basic user. I have had it since December 2005 and have had absolutely no problems. The only thing I can think of that really bothers me is the screen and volume. The screen is small and if you download a wallpaper from Cingular, it does not show all of the picture. It cuts off the bottom/base of the picture. Also, if you are in direct sunlight, the screen is very hard to read. The volume for a ringtone is very low. If I don't listen closely or I am in a load surrounding, I can barely hear the ringing.
Pros
Great battery life, I can go for a week without charging it and it will still have atleast 1 bar by Saturday.
Its got a great amount of games, wallpapers, and ringtones to get you started with customizing your phone.
Very small and light although that may not be good for someone who loses stuff often.
Many Applications.
Room for 1000 phonebook entries.
I have 9 downloaded ringtones, 10 downloaded graphics, and 1 downloaded game and still have 381 KB of memory left for personalization.
Very customizable.
Picture IDs for Group Phonebook entries.
Cons
Small buttons can easily press the wrong button
Small screen
Low ring volume
Too much Cingular advertising, if the Cingular logo wasn't under the screen, the screen could be much larger.
Overall, I'd give it a 9/10.
If you're into the candy bar(block) style phones and just looking for something basic thats durable and long lasting, then this is the phone for you.
