Samsung D307 User Reviews

I've seen a number of bad reviews for this phone that I think are quite unfair. I must preface this review by admitting the D 307 didn't work for me, but that was because I need something more along the lines of a smart-phone. I had it for 10 days and before returning it. Complaints seem to be born out of people not reading the manual or expecting things of the phone it was not designed to do.

This is a great little phone if IM or text messaging is your thing. Yes, the key board is a little confusing at first but you get used to it after a few days. The qwerty board makes it a snap to message or IM. You can even send your TXT messages to a friend's email account. Battery life is excellent.

The fact that you cannot connect to Media-net via the horizontal mode is a bit of a bummer, but the size and crisp, bright display of the screen more than compensates. It really only becomes an issue if you want to reply to an email on your Yahoo! or Hotmail account. Yet a solution is to just send it by TXT in the horizontal mode if you really wish to use the qwerty board.

It is an excellent phone. Voices come in loud and clear. I never had a problem understanding a caller, even in crowded malls or in downtown traffic as a pedestrian.

The fact of the matter is this is a phone for a special niche. If messaging is your thing, this is the best on the market. I really like its compact form compared to the Sidekick or the VX 9200 or 9800. If your looking for a phone with a bunch of doo-dads and will cook your breakfast too, avoid Don't write silly reviews about a phone you shouldn't have tried in the first place.

At first when I got the phone I needed it for data and Text. Its very cool once you read the instructions. To be honest I didnt like the look, the features as well becuase it was frustrating learning all of them. But the more I messed around with it the more I grew on it. Youll like it, it took my about a couple days after i purchased it to like it. The screen is very clear and sharp. The keypad a little bit small compared to others keyboard typing phones. Blue tooth works great. To be honest as far as features and what not, its better than the razor. The Voice command feature is pretty awesome. (Text-to-speech) Well, thats all I can think for right now.

In contrary to many other ppl I actually believe the Samsung D307 to be a great phone. I personally have gone to around 6 different phones within this year. Varying From Razor to the ericcson w800. I work with cell phones and i particularly think this phone doesnt get as much credit as it should. I use to have a ericsson w800 but I had technical trouble within so in the meantime i grab a hold of a D307. While some ppl actually call this a downgrade, I believe this phone to be more than just a classy phone, one which is amazingly great phone. It has great bluetooth compatability, its desing is somewat like the razor. Great landscape mode, great size for memory files, and so on. This phone i believe is actually an upgrade to those ppl who now own a Razor. Its just as thin n it has more interesting features, not to include great voice commands. While it might not have a camara after just 2 weeks of use I forgot completly about it. Great phone however there is only one thing which I dislike. The speaker phone is ok but not great. It doesnt have a good ringing volume at all, so you might not wanna waste money buying ringers. but all in all I would rate this phone with an 8 out of 10. Just give it a try u wont regret it. icon_cool.gif

I just bought the phone and after 1 day, Im sending it back.
1 There is no way to use the WAP feature in landscape mode, so you have to type in URLs using the digit keypad only. So www.google.com is 4 6 pause 6 4 555 3 symbol symbol 1 ok T9off 2 666 pause 6
Wouldnt it be easier to use the keyboard? icon_mad.gif icon_mad.gif
2 If you download a Ringtone, you CANNOT delete it unless you restore to factory settings.
3 I like my phone to be set to vibrate AND ring, this phone will vibrate 3 times then ring once, then go to voicemail. I missed almost every one of my calls icon_mad.gif
4 There is not one normal ring on the phone or the cingular website, all annoying music icon_mad.gif
5 You can not add people to your address book in landscape mode unless they call you first, you have to type their names and numbers in using the digit keypad only icon_mad.gif

I strongly dont reccomend this phone. Im going back to my Nokia 6820

In my opinion, this is the most useless phone ever manufactured.

It has that nice querty keyboard but the only useful things you can do with it in landscape mode is use the IM function, SMS, and mobile email(cingular's app). You can add an email address in landscape mode but not a phone number. I am in disbelief that you can't use the WAP browser in landscape mode either! Why would you spend the time to make that nice flip-out keyboard and limit it's function like that.

Here is a short list of other things that the phone won't do.

1. won't sync with outlook at least via bluetooth
2. Doesn't play WAV files
3. Plays MP3 ringtones but the volume is so low even at max that there is no point in having a ringtone.
4. No email client to get the POP email of your choice. Only that useless Cingular email client for Yahoo mail.

I do not recommend this phone to anybody as it has nothing to offer for the price. I am so annoyed that Samnsug would allow a product like this to go out the door that I will never buy another phone of theirs.
