Great Phone for T-mobile USA to pick up. Great features, great sound quality, ringtones are clear, crisp, and loud. Samsung did a great job in many respects. It does lack in a few fronts, one of which is the lack of customizable features. U cant turn off the camera shutter sound. they crippled the IR and data cable to only allow GPRS modem connections and Phonebook/SMS data backup through easy GRPS software. U cant Beam or sync java games or software to the phone. This prevents u from getting an XML browser like u can for the V600. No midi ringtones can be beamed either, so unless someone sponsers a wap site for downloads then you are stuck with available content from T-mo's T-zones.
If a firmware came out allowing for that shutter to be turned off and other such feature flaws id be more than happy to use this phone for years..
Bluetooth would be nice too. Samsung also lacked the foresight to make a data cable that uses USB as samsung claims "GPRS modems cant connect via USB" Hmm Ive done it with a 3rd party usb cable for an E-715, but i "voided" my warrenty..shucks.. I am happy with the phone, I bought it for the features it had, and those features work as they should.

I bought the D415 in may of 2005. good phone. Now on to the pros and cons:

Pros:
-amazing screen
-clear calls
-good battery life, only had 1 time the battery almost went dead on me.
-Amazing camera, for a VGa
-features make it difficult to unlock phone so there is almost no worry about accidentally making calls while in your pocket.
-has a little bit of weight to it so it doenst feel to light and plasticy

Cons:
-No speakerphone? for a $300 phone you'd think it'd have speakerphone
-donwloaded ringtones and ringtones that come with the phone...the volume is terrible. every other phone my friends own their volume is great, nice and loud. The ringer on this phone is nearly impossible to hear if in my pocket and the room has any sort of noise in it
-kind of weak vibration making it difficult to notice if in your pocket
-unable to customize directional buttons.
-if using a downloaded wallpaper the phone lags so bad.

other than that i love this phone but am now looking for something with a better ringer. that is my main gripe about it.
