Read alot about people having problems with installing games. I have a ton on mine, and haven't used he media net WAP crap once.
You're going to need two things to install games. First, a way to connect. I use bluetooth from my computer, but serial plugs work too. Second is Samsung PC Studio 3. It's a prety good program for moving files and synch'n your phone (though I haven't figured a way to save profiles for phones yet)
Got both? Good, now just follow the simple steps.
1) Find the .JAD and .JAR files for the game/program you want ( getjar. c o m is a good site with lots of free stuff, just look under D807)
2) Move the files to the phone. Samsung PC studio is pretty simple. Start it, click the transfer files icon, connect the phone and there ya go.
3) Installing: Once the .jar and .jad files are on the phone, go to the main screen (like your dialing a number) and dial *#9998*5282#
This will bring up a menu with Library info, native info, and install MIDIet . The first too aren't used for anything other then a bit of java info so don't worry about those. Select Install MIDIet. You will be prompted for a password. The phones password is 235282. Enter that then hit ok. you'll see a list of all the .jad and .jar files on the phone select the .jad (the smaller file, usally 1kb) and select install. The phone will appear to freeze. Close the slider and a warning will pop about an unsigned MIDIet if it's a freeware type game. Select yes. You;ll get an info screen asking to install, or if it's already installed (say you forget which files are on there like me) it will let you know and ask to install over (WARNING: this will cause you to loose any save files for the game you are installing, if that game has a save feture, like Ancient Empires II). After it installs it will ask you if you want to start the game. Yes goes to the game/program, No goes back to the dial screen. Just follow the instructions again for all the programs/games you put on the phone.
4) removing games: Remember, When you add a game to the phone, you add the info (.jar) the install (.jad) then install it. If you want to delete the game, you need to first delete the game from the menu/my stuff/games/my games folder then remove the .jar and .jad from the other files folder. Forget and your wasting space
So.quick run down. Move the .jar and .jad to the phone. Dial *#9998*5282# selecet install. Enter password 235282. select install on the .JAD file (the smaller one around 1kb) then close the slider. Hit ok, ok then enjoy your free game.
Why this info isn't in the manual I'm not sure. I can guess though. If everyone knew how easy it was to add games and programs to your phone, then why would anyone pay outragous extra costs in airtime and data usage to get them via WAP. Do some searching and you can find any game out there for free. Some are even better then any paid game offered. I suggest Ancient Empires 2 (turn based stradegy/combat) Super KO boxing (mike tyson punch out clone) and Magic Crystals (fun puzzle with nice graphics. There's even mario clones, and a full version of Zelda on it;s way.and thats just at getjar. com Search around, and never pay data usage for sub par games with no chance experience them first.
Video and Music
Saw some others posting about music and video, so figured I'd give some advice here too. Again, using Samsung PC Studio 3 is best. Click manage multi media files, connect your phone, and then click get files from pc. Load the files you want.
Now, the phone has some limitations. MP3's need to be 192kbs to be playable. You can use variable bit rate songs though, as long as the first 5 seconds or so are at 192kbs. To send to the phone, simply click to phone, select the bit rate and transfer.
For MP3 ringtones, it's just as easy. The only difference is the phone only will allow a song of about 27-30 seconds (I forget which so experiment) right click the file in the media manager and select edit and fix. From here you can tweak the song, change pitch or volume, add fade in and fade outs and crop the song. Crop it to around 27 seconds or so then transfer and you've got a ringtone ready mp3.
For video, it's a little trickier and some experimenting is needed to get a good combination of video/sound quality vs size. I'm still waiting for my 2gig sd card but I'm sure you can get entire episodes of shows onto this phone. I've got several highquality music videos that do well. using PC studio again, select the media tab and load the video. Now, the video needs to be adjusted for the phone. Right click the video and select edit and fix. Adjust the brightness, color, contrast and what not if you need to, then select to phone.
From here, add a name for the file (not too large as there are limits here too.) Set file type to 3GP, then hit options. Set the video to 176x144 (QCIF) and adjust the qulity and frame rate as you like. May require experimenting depending on the size of the video, but I've done the highest quality and framerate with videos up to 5 minutes fine. For sound, select AMR. From here, more experimenting may be needed for sound quality vs compatibility. I always select AMR_NB_MR67 since it is a mobile phone, and using a tiny ass mid grade speaker. No use in wasting since on sound quality I wont hear. Once all is set select ok and to phone. The file should appear in your download video folder and if all is well (compatible) you'll see the thumbnail image for it. If it doesn't play, something is set too large for the phone to play and you need to delete it and try again with lesser settings (lower framerate, quality, sound, ect) Just experiement and you'll get it
Hope this helps

I just came from the Motorolla V551, which was a fantastic phone, as well, but it was just its time. R.I.P.
I travel and depend on the Internet quite a bit for life and work and it was imperative to find a phone that could do all the things my V551 did for me: J2ME apps, syncing with my Powerbook G4, bluetoothing to my Powerbook so it could get online in spots with no WiFi. This phone I believe can do all this.
I got the d807 to pair with my laptop fine, although, at the moment iSync recognizes but will not sync with it. I'm pretty sure that it will in the future. I had the same problem with the V551 at first too. Setting the d807 up for the Internet works fine, though, if anyone has any recommendations about which modem script to use, let me know.
Pros:
- Fast responses and stability while using Internet features.
- Compatible with J2ME must have apps.
- Voice Commands are the best I have seen yet. No need to prerecord anything. And you can speak freely and not have to worry about over enunciating. Plus it passes the test of the one friend who's name was previously impossible to recognize. If the name is as complex as "Fummaladdirro Zeerockalimojax" the phone can handle it.
-Menu/Interface are intuitive.
- Voice Command provides alternative for the limitations of few shortcuts and deeply hidden features.
- Better handling of network in rural, mountainous, inside-a-bar areas.
- Chrome and black finish doesn't smudge as bad as you'd expect.
- Screen is easy to clean. Dust and dirt does not get into the screen edges (yet).
- Oils from your face do not smudge screen too badly. Whatever does smudge can be wiped away easily.
- Very organized location of files (music, audio, pics, etc.) When you download or bluetooth files, the phone handles what category to place them in appropriately.
Cons:
- Number keys are somewhat difficult to type with. Forced to use finger nails.
- Typing in IMs somewhat difficult due to the AI used. Would like the option to disable the AI.
- Gmail not supported in Mobile Email. Since I don't use any of the other email services it does support, it's useless and takes up space in main menu. Download the program, Flurry, to your d807 for Gmail and it is a much stronger mobile email program.
- Cannot customize main menu. Example: Would like to place Flurry in Mobile Email's spot.
- Cannot turn off icon zoom in main menu.
- Limited to 4 custom shortcuts.
- Bluetoothing .jar files to the phone does not prompt install. Cannot find way to install afterwards, either. Must download .jar files through WAP to get install prompt.
- For Mac users, currently, syncing address book entries requires you upload each vCard one by one.
- Cannot sync with iCal.
- Forces you to buy proprietary headset, if going wired.
- Handset's maximum volume level is not very loud.
Recommendation:
- Do not remove plastic protection over camera hole. Normally, I'm the kind of person who pulls any and all plastic coverings because they're ugly, but after previous phones and seeing how much dust and dirt gets into the camera holes messing up pics, it's probably best to keep this one on. Plus it doesn't get in the way, nor is it fug as you will see.
Great phone. I would definitely recommend. If you need a pretty good business phone without having to get a smartphone or you're coming from a Motorola V551-V557 class but don't want to give in to getting their fancy schmancy RAZR counterparts like a bajillion other people than this is definitely the phone for you. Fashion and funcionality. Sleek and sophisticated. If you've been looking at the Sony Ericsson Z525a, that is a comparable phone featurewise, but I think the Samsung d807 edges it out.

I have had phones from Nokia, Sony Ericcison, Motorola, and now, I've got a Samsung d807.
the bluetooth works fantastic with the plantronics headset (320 model) and can be detected by my mac, a powerbook g4 15".
the sounds quality is very clear. I have the volume at 4, although, some perfer the volume to 7.
The phone is set to lock when the slider is down by default. This prevents that accidental dialing that the "candy bar" style phones are prone to if the phones are not locked.
The camera, though very basic, is still sharp and great for those times when you don't have a dedicated camera on hand.
Overall, the phone has more of sophisticated touch than the Motorola and yet has the capability of being a "fun" and "hipster" piece like the Nokia's and Sony Ericcsons.
Those with big fingers may find it easier to use the associated number commands to change settings as the directional pads are in a rather tight space.
So far so good. My previous phone, Motorola v.400, had a weak signal in my home. The Samsung still has all signal bars, so there is that improvement in my change of handset too!!!

I'll throw my 2 cents in, I got the phone about 3 days ago.
Pros:
- Nice camera, its cool that it has a timer, so you don't really need that camera button on the side.
- It CAN take larger than 512 mb cards. I bought a Sandisk 1 Gb from Bestbuy (it was on sale for 35 after a $10 rebate) and the card shows 1GB of space on it.
- Good signal
- Its loud enough for me, louder than my old Samsung phone. Speakerphone sounds really good.
- Got some cool game for it.
- MP3s as ringtones. Yeah, I know, every phone has this now.
Cons:
- No protection for the screen. With flip phons you can cover the screen. I put a screen protector on it (like aclear sticker, you can get them for PDAs)
- Fingerprints.
- Can't install games from memory card (haven't tried but read everywhere it can't be done)
Overall its a sweet phone and a big upgrade over my old Samsung flip phone.

Pros:
* Easy to use interface
* Mp3 Ringtones (never had a phone before like that...)
* wonderful camera (1.3 mpx)
* camera has multishot
* love the video record effects, ie Sketch
* Expandible memory card
* T9 predictive text...sometimes...
* love the slider
* slider sound effects
* EDGE is pretty good for this phone - takes me about 15 secs to connect to website
* Sim card is very secure when removing the battery
* AIM
* Can access my Gmail through the WAP (as I have media max 200)
* mobitv works wonderfully
* Caller ID block right on the phone without having to go through CC
* Paid for the phone for 1 penny with new service at amazon.com through cingular
Cons:
* Bad antenna - I get maybe 4 bars at the most
* Low volume AND speakerphone
* difficulty moving tab to charge phone
* only one port on the right - can't charge my phone AND tether it to my computer via usb at the same time
* short battery life - I play with the phone for three house, and it drops me to one charge on the battery meter - not cool
* No personalized ringtones for specific calls
* horrible default ringtone selections
* Photo Caller ID is very picky - can't set one to my wife's number through the camera feature
* lack of other cool themes - default one is the only theme that FITS the phone

let me say first off this phone is a lot better than my sony ericsson s710a
pros, non choppy menu nav, built in mp3 player, good pictures on cam, it supports software updates, it uses opera mini, mobile email client, long battery life, speaker is a bit quit but not that bad as some people think. the edge data access is ungodly fast, i like this phone bettery than my LG cu500
cons: feels kind of flimsy, a bit small for big pawed people. other than that i have not found any flaws yet that would merit attention. does not support the 1 gig micro sd card. only 512 or lower

I got this phone a few days ago and it's pretty amazing for all the things that it can do.
Pros
- Attractive design, love the ultra thinness of the phone and the black color with the silver trim
- 1.3 Megapixel camera provides a decent camera phone
- Bright, vivid display
- MicroSD slot and Multimedia Player leaves the iPod at home
- Most features are pretty useful
- Good signal
- Reasonably priced (USD 119.99 after rebates)
Cons
- Feels a bit bulky and it's slightly bigger than the RAZR and the iPod Mini
- Phone looks a bit like plastic
- Silver trim and big screen gets smudged with fingerprints easily
- It's sometimes hard to hear when you're in a noisy place, but the Speakerphone or bluetooth handset can help
- A bit hard to navigate with the arrowkeys
- No dedicated camera button on the side.. could be useful when taking self pics
- MicroSD slot only supports up to 512mb
- Battery life is short if you're planning to use it a lot
But worse of all...
The Voice Command needs heavy improvement. Only works sometimes. When I tried to go to the notes seciton, it went to the games. So I wouldn't reccomend using the Voice Command.
Overall, this is a very great phone. One of those few phones with a lot of features yet having a striking design. I'd highly reccomend it.
