I spent a lot of time researching a selected number of phones from it's price, features, reviews, GSM coverage, radiation emitted (known as SAR), and the pros and cons. It was finally narrowed down to the Samsung S105.
The breakdown my findings will be in 2 parts... one for the basic user and one for the advanced tech savvy people (not user).
Basic User
If you do your homework (phone features, mobile coverage, etc.), you won't be frustrated in the end.
Pros:
Radiation level -
SAR FCC S105 recorded @ the ear - 0.182W/kg, worn on the body - 0.164W/kg, max limit mobile phones by FCC 1.6W/kg.
This can be found under the FCC's website.
FCC ID# A3LSGHS105 (On website type A3L on 1st line, then SGHS105 on 2nd line)
The radiation level emitted from this phone is super low. It's lower than most other brand name model phones.
Build/Quality: This is a solid well built phone. Samsung has a good reputation for build/quality on their mobile phones.
Reception - Very good. Voices are clearly heard for both incoming & outgoing.
Phone Book Entries - 750 Total (500 in Phone Memory & 250 in SIM card).
Internal Display - 65k colors, bright, large easy to read icons, easy to use graphic user interface.
External Display - LCD, easy to read, backlight to see at night.
Ringtone Volume - At max it's very loud.
WAP and Java - Very useful features.
Cons:
Phone Volume - At max it's moderately loud. There are times when the volume needs to be turned up another notch or two (noisy environment, soft spoken caller, caller's phone). Other than that, it's fine. This was my biggest concern.
Ringtones - Small and not a good selection of ringtones that came with phone.
Standby Screen - Can't get disable operator logo and date/time on screen. Small selection of background screens that came with phone.
Conclusion: This is an excellent phone compared to other brands in the same price/features category. I'm very happy that I bought this phone.
Tech Savvy People
You know what the phone can and can't do as well as have a good idea of it's performance limit.
There are hidden functions not viewed on the GUI that can be used modify and/or view WAP as well as other settings.
Little annoyances such as unable to disable the operator's logo, date/time on the standby screen, and other restrictions can be disabled.

I was about to buy the Sony T68i but due to unavailability at T-Mobile I had to go for Samsung S105 for a week till T68i becomes available. Now that I use S105 and compare the reviews for both, I guess I might keep the S105!
The reviews say right, its good phone and I won’t repeat all what the other people wrote, but few things I'd like to reiterate are:
Pros:
- It has the essentials: Good Reception and Good Battery!
- Good Menu System.
- Organizer: calendar, multi-alarms, To-do List with priority.
- Define own shortcuts for menus that you use frequently!
- Screen / Sound: pretty good.
- Good Messaging system.
- Looks good, weighs light.
- GPRS work fine, decent speed.
- Favorites folder in phone (you can add your links and don’t have to go to T-mobile home page every time to start with)
- External LCD with date/time (if u need light, keep the volume button pressed) and if you have missed call, it will light up just at the touch of the button!
- That said, exceptionally well in telling you that you Missed a call (it will make sure that you notice it, and NOT in an annoying manner)!
- Excellent conferencing menus, I managed to get 4 calls in conference without any confusion at first go!
Cons:
- T9 text mode does not let add new words! And no auto-case feature! I am a heavy SMS user and if you are a text message person, you will find this very needy...
- The organizer sync is lame but would be worth if I could sync with MS Outlook, the EasyGPRS software SURELY needs amendments... You can't even sync the To-dos with the EasyGPRS?
- If I miss a schedule appt alarm, there is no reminder! Especially when my phone is on silent mode, I would never know!
- Sure need some decent ringers.
That’s mostly it that I have to say. Overall a good phone. Most likely I will keep it

I live in Orange County, CA an looked at many phones before deciding on the S-105, including the Sony Ericsson T68i. Here are the reasons I chose the S-105:
-I like the flip phone design because it helps to protect the HUGE color screen. I'm not a big holster person and I don't like using any type of leather case (why buy a such a nice looking phone if you're just going to cover it up?)
-I found the display to be much clearer and more vibrant than the T68i.
-From various sources of information, I read that the T68i isn't the greatest phone to have if yo want to use T-Mobile's T-Zones service.
-I don't have anything that would require bluetooth technology, although it is a nice feature, I just can't see spening ... on a wireless headset.
-It comes with 2 batteries and a hands-free headset (not the most comfortable--but it's FREE!)
-You can personalize the phone with what seems like endless options.
-The ring tones are great!
-Best of all the phone is FREE after all the rebates.
I have had the phone for a few days and I'm getting awesome reception--no one can tell I'm on a cell phone. Everytime I use it people are amazed at the display and all the great features. And did I mention best of all it was free? I hope this helps!

I've had this phone for a few years and I really loved it. The size was great. Picture sharp. I like the ringtones on this a lot.
Sadly I started having some problems with the screen turning dark. The only way to get it back to where I could use it was by turning it off and back on. That's frustrating. I think it has something to with opening and closing the phone.
I like all the alarms on the phone and that the alarms work even if the phone is turned off. So now this phone is a nice litle alarm clock and an emergency phone if I need it. And I only have to charge the battery about every 4 weeks.
I still recommend the phone because it lasted a good 2.5 years and I can still get it to work by turning it off and on. I've dropped it on concrete and my tile floor so many times I'm surprised it works at all. The screen is still very bright and clear when it isn't blacked out.
