Released for T-Mobile, the Samsung SGH-T709 is a new slider phone that allows seamless handoffs from a wide area cellular network to a wireless local area network (WLAN) using Wi-Fi connectivity. Consumers using the SGH-T709 can travel between their home, office or public wireless LAN locations with virtually no data interruptions, meaning fewer glitches when downloading content, surfing the wireless Internet or watching streaming video. The SGH-T709 works on high-speed EDGE technology, allowing consumers to access, browse and download data files at faster speeds faster than ordinary GSM handsets.
