I upgraded my cingular phone to this new x507. BIG MISTAKE. At first I was told that the horrible call quality was a network issue, then I was told it might be a damaged SIM card. Now I'm on my replacement x507 and the call quality is still bad bad bad.
If you love not being able to hear the person on the other end of the line...
If you love saying "What did you say?" every 30 seconds...
If you don't want the other caller to understand more than 1 word in 5...
If you think a microphone the size of a pinhole is sufficient...
If you are the kind of person who uses an "outside voice" all the time...
Then this might be the phone for you!!!!!
Otherwise... This phone will drop syllables, garble voices, have incredibly quiet volume, never pick up a voice that is hushed in the slightest bit, frustrate you, drive you crazy, make you want to throw it out the window, etc.
This phone drops calls when my old phone never did, in the exact same places (in my home). There is nasty static frequently, I have to shout to be heard (which isn't good when trying to talk quietly due to having a roommate), and often times just give up trying to say whatever I wanted to say. I have to over-enunciate everything to be understood the first time. I am so frustrated with this phone but I am equally frustrated with the people at my cell phone company, so I haven't decided whether it's worth fighting with them to get a different type of phone.
Avoid, avoid, avoid!
