Samsung A640 User Reviews

After getting the phone, I was just checking online for its specs and stumbled upon these reviews. I would like to add one of my own to let everyone know the GOOD things about this phone as everything else I am reading is negative.

1. The service reception is excellent, I am not sure what bottomless pit the other guy was in to not get reception, but mine is perfect everywhere I go, and I don't live in the city by any means. In addition, that wouldn't be as related to the phone as it would be to the provider.

2. The outside screen looks so awesome, if you're almost blind, it may be hard to read, but I found my outer screen to be very bold and lighted with no issues, I can fully read all things on there and it does really look cool.

3. I personally like the fact that this phone is so glossy and shiny - yes, it shows finger prints insanely, but I purchased a nice carrying case for it and keep a little microfiber cloth in there that I typically use on my laptop screen anyhow, works a charm.

4. I am not hard on my phone, they were not built to be dropped, throw, stepped on or scratched by things, it makes and recieves calls and thats what phones were made for.

5. The picture quality is EXCELLENT! I really like the way they are displayed on the screen when taken, they look very smooth, not pixelated like all of my previous camera phones have been.

6. The speaker phone sounds great, my last phone sounded like it cut out often and sounds like you lost reception, but this one is nice, everything is just an intensified version of what you would hear up to your head.

Thats all for me so far, haven't tried the blue tooth yet and I use my data cable for putting ringtones and stuff on there, so I have no need for its internet browser. I have however used MSN Messenger on it and it does work very slowly, but its pretty much to be excepted with a cell phone, if you want good internet speeds with something like this, get a pocket PC or a PDA.

I have had this phone for several days. It is not a good choice . you should consider the previous reviews, plus these facts:

1. There is an outside button for Ready Link. If you don't want Ready Link, this is useless. It is easy to push it accidentally, and then it takes two inside actions to undo the error.

2. The web browser is just horrible. I had a Sanyo previously, and not a new Sanyo, either, and it got virtually every wap or mobile web site there was. The A640 can't get Yahoo! Really. Of all the web sites, they can't get Yahoo. Who needs this sort of web access . some work, some don't.

3. You can answer with the phone closed, using the speakerphone button, but you can't hang up. Really! So, to disconnect a call answered with the phone closed, you have to open the phone, and find the 'end' button. This can be a pain, especially in low light.

Why bother with these poor features (and see above about the outside.) Pick another.

I have spent alot of time around this phone. And from what ive found its for the majority a good phone. There are a few problems with this phone.

1. Bluetooth is insanely slow - This it the single reason i dislike this phone. This phone's bluetooth barely works. it takes an abserdly long time to set up. and after a while if you dont reboot the phone, and repair the headset. then it wont work. ive had people who had the phone for 2 or 3 days and had to reconnect it each day. it is a rediculouly bad feature.

2. The outside screen/display - This display is a JOKE. it get scratched WAY to easy, finger prints are really easy to see it, and unless your in a dimly lit room its hard to see teh screen AT ALL.

But it is a good looking phone, other then the 2 features i previously mentioned. its a good phone, i would give it a 5 outta 10. if your looking for a phone that looks cool and is flashy, this is a good chice. as long as the screen and bluetooth not working well doesnt bother you.

I hate this phone! Trust me i have my reasons!

1. the outside screen is horrible! you can't see a darn thing!

2. If your a person who likes to keep there phone clean dont get this phone, it shows smudges like you wouldnt believe!

3. if your phones go through wear and tear this is not the phone for you, it will scratch just wth a long fingernail

4. Crackle!Crackle!Crackle! it has horrible reception

5. and the battery juice is horrible it lasts like a half a day if its "fully charged"

beilieve me i'm not trying to be a samsung hater 'cause i usually love there stuff but not this phone!
