Sanyo MM-7500 User Reviews

icon_w00t.gif This phone is AWESOME! I'll start with all the good stuff... from sleek design, to interchangeable face 'plates', to themes, to mp3 playin', to GPS capabilities, to an included USB cable, to "talking commands", it's all awesome! The camera is good enough and the 'power vision' internet is very fast both on the phone and when the phone is used as a modem. Although this site states that there is no FM tuner, the phone does have the capability to stream various music (think of it like XM Radio) thanks to the included Sprint Media Player; however, you must subscribe to MSpot Radio. My MM-7500 that I use for business during the day doubles as my workout entertainment center when I hit the gym at night. No need for an MP3 player anymore. I stream House music and if I want to listen to MP3's, I can put what I already have on the phone itself with the included USB cable. Come on, I don't NEED 30GB of music if I only workout for 1 1/2 - 2 hours, so I've left behind the IPOD in lieu of my MM-7500, which BTW is easier to handle thanks to the nifty grip built onto this phone. I can now be at the gym and never miss an important ($$$) phone call.

Now for the 'not so good' points... how about some software to transfer videos, voice memos, pictures, ringtones, and anything else that's kept on this thing? I mean, I thought the included USB cable would allow for me to transfer everything, but it's only good for two things: mp3 transferring and 'phone-as-a-modem'. That's okay, I guess. I'm only waiting for the third party companies to make this phone compatible with the current softwares that allow for transferring everything out and in. No card slot? 75MB only goes so far. Also, everything is now BlueTooth driven, from earpieces to BMW's. BT is everywhere. Being a businessman means being on the phone a lot. Having this phone sync with my BMW would be a nice plus because wired earpieces are an animal to untangle and use, especially since I'm always on the run. How about some Exchange Server solution for clamshell phones? icon_neutral.gif Maybe there is one, but I don't know about it. I guess I can miss emails, but my phone calls make me money so I can live without it for now. Also, be prepared to spend a fortune for ANYTHING you do with this phone. Want to listen to Mspot radio? That will be an additional $5 a month. Want GPS capabilities? Another $4 - $10 a month. How about ONE SINGLE PATHETIC MP3 SONG??? That will be $2.50 PER SONG PLUS TAX!! icon_mad.gif I don't even bother surfing the Sprint Music store. I get my songs elsewhere then transfer them to my phone. Maybe one day Sprint will get the message that TWO DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS PLUS TAX PER SONG is absolutely STUPID, plain and simple. Who the hell did the market study on that one??? I just downloaded my FIVE free songs and never been back to the Sprint Music store since...

Overall, a fantastic phone and a HUGE upgrade from my SCP 4500, or was it the 5500, or is it the SCP 4500/5500... whatever... This makes for a great 'businessman' phone or a kid's portable entertainment paradise... Hell, good customer service or not, this phone MAKES you like Sprint's service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
