I purchased this phone about month 1/2 ago when my LG bit the dust. It was strictly an impulse, walk-in & walk-out purchase. No research, no camparison shopping, no nothing. Just walked in to RadioShack and bought it. Since owning it I have been very content with it. I've been able to actually get a signal in stores which I couldn't with my previous phone thanks to the "antenna", is that what it's called? Speakerphone is the best I've ever owned. Team it up with a descent, loud ringtone, and you could hear it from space! I do miss my precious tip calculator and it doesn't hold a lot of voice memos like my last "cell" did, but the longer talk time & battery life do make up for it. The camera is descent. An improvement, but Sprint offers better. No bluetooth capabilty but that's okay for me. Overall the price isn't bad and it comes in four different colors (I got the blue)so that's why it's not bad, but not great. my score, on a scale of 5(love it) to -5(hate it), 0 being neutral, I would have to give it a 3/3.5. I'm kinda lucky I got the phone that I did. My advice is do some research before you even walk in to a store or add it to your online shopping cart. Good day!

I disagree with the reviewer that works for Sprint that claims this phone is junk. I purchased this phone a week ago, and so far so good. After all, I didn't expect a Cadillac of a phone for $200. Pros to to this phone: Good sound quality, easy to navigate menus, great orange backlight on external LCD, good speakerphone. Cons: Camera is average at best but I didn't buy this phone for that feature anyway. Other than that, I find no glaring deficencies. I think this phone fits right in for what you pay for it, good solid phone, nothing fancy.

Back in the early days of telephony all anyone expected of a phone was to act as a conduit between two individuals, get basic information or to facilitate help in an emergency. Of course, that was before the buzz word 'convergence' was coined and everyone expected their phone to be an ersatz sex partner, business ally, squash competeitor, rock 'n roll performer, and nurse maid. But sometimes a phone's just gotta be a phone and that said the Sanyo 3100 is a solid contender in the realm of 'just phonedom'. Sure, you can snap garish out of focus snaps, access incredibly truncated versions of the web, fiddle with buttons and settings endlessly, or text message insipid half-truths with all the aplomb of a self-righteous 2nd grader. Yeh, it can do all these things and more but what it does best is make crystalline clear calls and also possesses a very good speakerphone. Is it beauteous, slim and sexy? Uh.....uh, but I don't want to date my phone, I just want to call a few friends, check in on my mom, and call for help in case of a hangnail. So, intrepid communicators, if you're feeling a little derring-do and want to explore the hitherto unknown reaches of basic human contact, then this little number might do the trick.

Ok, If you are a student in school who doesn't turn off thier phone in class this is a bad phone for you. When the phone is closed thier on buttons on the side. Well when you sit down the buttons press against you leg, and once the button is released it produces a obnoxious, loud beep. not that bad right. well that results in the re-dial the be triggered. If you don't open your phone and exit that mode, then once any of the buttons on the side get tapped it re-dails the last number in your on your recent calls. ON SPEAKER PHONE! and you cant end the call without taking it out of your pocket, or backpack and opening it up and pressing END. By then the teacher will notice, and your phone will be thiers for how ever long they decide to keep it and further disiplinary action may be taken.

Just thought i'd let you know. But it is pretty durable. I've had it for a long time, and drop it ALOT. it still works just fine, but the battery life has recently been reduced and it dies very quickly.

I work for Sprint and this phone is a piece of junk. EVERY single one of these phones I sold are being returned. The phone is ALWAYS roaming and almost every call is dropped because of it. While on a call the phone tries to connect to sprint service and drops the call. I've had 16 of these phones returned in a week, don't waste your time with it.

This is the sorriest phone that I have ever purchased in my life. I paid $25 for this phone from Sprint, and I believe that even that was too much. You cannot hear on it. The sound fades in and out. All your phone calls are dropped. Each and every one. In addition, these phones are very fragile. The only redeeming qualities are that it is cute, and that the camera is not bad. Sanyo is a horrid company to work with, so I do not wish them upon you. Avoid this phone at all costs. If I could rate this phone and this company on a scale from 1-10, I would give them a zero. Please. Don't waste your money.

I came back from the service and needed a phone. I guess I was still a bit jet-lagged from my ordeal because I really screwed the pooch when I bought into this phone and the two year contract that came with it. I had a lot of things to take care of trying to get settled back in, and iIt was just over a month later when I finally realized that my choice in cell phone was a very bad one. Not only does the phone suck, I was stuck with the paying a two year contract or an early termination fee. A quick consideration of the cost option and I decided to terminate it after all. (Wish I would have done it two weeks sooner though...)

The hardware looks and feels pretty sound, but the phone really does have problems. Standing right next to a cell tower I got all 6 bars... AND IT STILL MANAGED TO DROP ENTIRE CALLS. Two miles away at a friend's house it's like a stray dog in heat as it goes into "Digital Roam". Back home, I was lucky to get 2 bars, and the sound quality ranged from bad to impossible. It didn't matter where I was with this phone, it's ability to deliver clear service was simply not there.

If you get this phone, 50% of your conversation while on the phone is going to be about what a crappy phone it is. The other 50% of your conversaion is going to be "WHAT? HUH? I DIDN'T CATCH THAT! COULD YOU SAY AGAIN? SORRY! NO! IT'S THIS &^%$ING PHONE!"

It's been canceled now. I feel taken advantage of, and ripped off. From what I can tell the phone itself is otherwise useless to any other service provider. Don't buy it. Just don't. icon_sad.gif

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! I bought one in July 2006 when my old phone finally died. I figured this phone would be a good replacement. It was for about 6 months when it suddenly died as well. It was plugged into the wall and charging when it powered down and would not turn back on. I then had to pay $50 to replace the phone at a Sprint store. Now not four months later I have had the exact same issue. The phone powers down and will not turn back on. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
