The Sony Ericsson K790a Cyber-Shot digital camera phone is a small and sophisticated feature-packed 3G phone. Integrating a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, image and video stabilizer and built-in Xenon flash, the K790a is ready for any moment, anytime. BestPic technology lets users capture several images in quick succession with one press of the camera key. Pick the best. Delete the rest. A camera stabilizer function compensates any small movements of the hand when taking a picture and shooting video. When users have taken a photo, they can share it straight away using Bluetooth, multimedia messaging or blog it.

I purchased the k790a around a month ago following a bad experience with a White RAZR V3x after replacing my aging MPX220
Positive:
- sleek black and silver design
- Great Display and visual screen appearance
- Interface is impressive, with a moving background and transparency in some of the menus (such as contacts, messaging, and main menu)
- Keypad feels responsive and has a nice feel to it
- Music interface is well designed, sorting by album and artist as well as providing buildable playlists, also inclueds an equilizer for the playback
- The Camera, 3.2 MP highest 850mhz camera usable on cingular and the options this provides are quite impressive. Has multiple photo modes along with a strong flash and "photo dj" editing software.
- Good call volume and phone functionality (MUCH greater than that of the MPX 220's)
- Good reception of signal (850, 1800, 1900) mhz bands
Negative:
- Current pricing in the 420 dollar range
- Uses sony's M2 micro memory slot, which is not sold in the US at the moment. If you want to upgrade the included 64MB card, then it currently requires costly shipping and a retailer who is willing to ship to the US.
- No headphone jack, adapter is needed for the playback of music via 3.5mm headphones. (most sony ericsson models use same layout and these are readily available for around 10 dollars).
- Battery is a bit weak for all the features and typically upon heavy use of camera, mp3 player, or talking it will need charging every 15 hours or so.
- not as eye-catching as the white V3x or other Razr branded products
Summary:
- For the person who is willing to spend around 500 or so dollars this can be an all-in-one device playing 1gb of mp3's, 3.2 MP camera, and a great phone.
- Highly recommend this phone of you would like to replace 3 devices in one, and have a phone with great functionality of both features and calling
