This was my first cell phone, and I've had this phone for about 2 years now...and it's still one of my favorites. Of course I have upgraded, and now this is my backup-to-my-backup-to-my-backup phone. The phone is durable. I don't know how many times I have dropped or thrown it. But it still works perfectly, and its a keeper. In any case, this would be a great starter phone for someone or for just the young folk. Sony Ericsson and Nokia, in my opinion, make some of the best cell phones in the market today.

When I had the opportunity to use the SE T226 i did it. It is a very nice phone for young people., very small, but with a big display with 512 colours. This make than the photos taken with Communicam MCA-30, than is includedin the pack , se very good. Also the phone is cabable to send MMS, SMS and EMS.
Between this phone and Nokia 3300 I prefer this one.
By the same price you may buy Nokia 3300, but SE t226 by this price you may include the Communicam MCA-30.
This mobile is also capable to download Mophun games, polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers and themes from the WAP or via cable.
A very Nice mobile. , with just importan things for a selected public, it has not infrared and bluetooth, but you are available to connect a Radio FM, which is very nice.
eso es buen movil

This was my first phone from Erricson after it was purchased by Sony. I must say I'm very unimpressed. Now, my who family had one of these, we all hated them, and all had our share of problems, so I have a pretty good idea how these work
Over all quality is ok. Keys are a bit mushy but not too bad. Worst is the external rocker which is just rubber. However, the build quality is where the good stops. All of our phones would have problems switching on. Dad's was the worst locking up many times. Sometimes so bad he'd have to remove the battery to get the darn thing working again!
Screen is nothing great. It's not active matrix(so it blurs a lot) and the resolution is very low(101x80, most are 128x128 or 128x160) Colors are flat too, having only 512 colors. It is also very sluggish and weak. Many times the phone would freeze for a second or obviously take a bit to write the screen, like the processor was too weak.
Sound was good. Nothing spetacular or anything, but they worked. Though all of ours began to act up later on in some way or another. Mine just started breaking up, or sometimes would just drop the connection even when I have all 5 signal bars. Rings were good, but their speaker method was odd. There is actually a 3rd speaker inside for the audio(basically, one for the phone calls, a mic, and a loud speaker) Oddly enough, the loud speaker was covered. If you open the phone, you find out it's covered to hide all the static and hissing that plays when it makes noises. Kind of weird, but that's how it worked.
Battery life was good. It would easilly last a few days on standby. About all I can say there.

The T226 was my first phone.about five years ago now. Best phone I've ever had hands down.
I've had pets chew on it, dropped it in puddles, it's sat in a wet window sill, fell in a pool, been covered in soda, thrown so many times in and out of a case it's not even funny, dropped from a height of about 8 feet onto a wood floor, and still works 100% as well as the day I took it home.
I've upgraded since, obviously, I've had four phones total, definitely the T226 was the best. VERY sturdy, reliable, still works to this day, I use it when I know I'm going somewhere rough and I don't want to trash my good phone. It beats out everything that's come out since in my opinion, I had another phone that died after about a year and a half, the damn thing wouldn't send calls/messages when outside of my home county basically.
Great phone to start a young child on, I highly recommend it, it's even easy to get nail polish off of if your child likes to paint their phones with nail polish (as a sixth grader I definitely did so quite often). Definitely not for people with bad vision though, I have a tough time with it when I don't have my glasses on. Small keys are great for small hands, not so great for the people with fingers rounder/larger than a penny or so.
