icon_razz.gif Hi to all. I purchased this phone two days back. I had a good time fiddling aroud with the features.

Plus Points: Good looks, color display, polyphonic ring tones (Not all are good), and MMS

Minus Points : No Calender, The Key presses are effort consuming at least htree times the normal effort. I really don't know why Sony ericsson has this. Even the T100 has the same Prob icon_angel.gif

Esp the last line in the Keypad ie *, 0 and # is difficult to operate when you are msging or keying the names. Coz there is a bulge in the bottom line.

This design improves the Looks not the functionality. This is my view.
people with thin fingers may get away with this prob.

icon_wink.gif

Display Clarity is Good and Images are Sharper compared to T300 icon_smile.gif

Time to Switch Between Menus are longer probably the memory management issue. Im not sure.

Naivgation is easy due to Joy stic. The menus require a return key item so that you could avoid using the "No" button to returnback to the previous menu

Has 250 phone memory space. Good

Changing the contact info ie to change the phone no from mobile to Resi or Off is not available. this would be irricsome if you had made a mistake in keying the No under the wrong heading.
Do it again after erasing icon_cry.gif

Weight: 101 Gms slyghtly heavier than I expected. Got to compromise for other features.

The Warning signs " LOUD RINGTONE MAY DAMAGE HEARING" is Really Irritating.

Sony Guys Remove this for better.

WE KNOW OUR LIMITS

Looks - Real Trendy

Battery Life: Talk time and Standby - Plz ask me after a weeks time I will be able to tell you. Coz my batteries are under conditioning phase.

On the whole it is a good investment. Deft better than Panasonic GD75 and Nokia entry level phone with color display and polyphonic sounds.

Sony has given the value for the money.

I've got my T310 for roughly 1.5 weeks and I'm veryyyyy happy with it icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif only minor that I can think off with it is the lack of Bluetooth but you cant have anything also the Battery doesnt last that long and sometimes I suffer a crash but thats rare. I just gotta say that its a wonderful fone

icon_lol.gif Hi every phone users! I've bought this phone for a month and after using it for this long, I've decided to give some of my comments.

icon_exclaim.gif The bad thing about this phone is:
- The very limited space it provides (1MB)
- You cannot delete pre-defined items
- The colour resolution is too low, therefore the picture you take from your camera really stinks.
- You can only play mophun games
- The Warning signs " LOUD RINGTONE MAY DAMAGE HEARING" is really irritating
- Slightly heavier and bigger than expected
- You cannot type as fast as the Nokia models on SMS or MMS
- No build-in radio
- No loud speaker
- Cannot download applications
- No calender
- When listening to ringtones, it gets from soft to loud, cannot play loud straight away
- The recorded voice is very soft and cannot be set as ringtone
- You cannot create folders
- You cannot zoom in pictures
- You can't find alot of accessories and support outside for this phone unlike the Nokia models (This may change as Ericsson is getting more popular)
- Setting the theme takes forever
- Nevigating around the phone is quite slow and laggy
- No bluetooth

icon_cry.gif After looking at my negetive comments on this phone, you may wonder why this phone is worth the buy! My following positive comments may change your mind:

- Trendy cover
- The polyphonic ringtones are very good (32 chords)
- The joystick nevigator is very easy and nice to nevigate with
- Has 250 phone memory space
- Display clarity is good and images are sharper compared to T300
- You can set your own themes
- You can create your own ringtones
- The battery life is also quite sustainable

I bought this phone and used it for a week and found out UI has slow reaction time to key presses. The UI screen has a hard time keeping up with my key presses. Display is dim and the resolution is bad, I'd rather have a non-color LCD with more pixels. Keypad buttons are not erogonomic, it's hard to press, too small, cannot tell which row you are on based on touches. The yes/no key are small and the two other keys below them are very hard to be distinguished by touch and you have to aim right to get those buttons to lock/unlock phone. Hitting c button does not bring you back to the previous screen, so I have to hit no, and I have the idea that c means clear, but it doesn't clear UI menu.
Back cover is flimpsy, if dropped, battery could pop out. No common type earphone jack, has to use their proprietory earphone. No calendar!! The icon-joystick interface fooled me into the idea that I could use something like a Palm-os type applications, but, no, no calendar. Calendar is so much more useful. One big drawback is the volume. It has up to 8 levels, but even if I max to 8/8, if I am in a noisy street, or a noisy car with wind noise, or other background noise, I can't hear what the otherside is saying. The game seems to be very arcade like, which is good, but the control configuration isn't. Joystick acts as movement as fire, it gets sometime to get used to, which makes me not interested in playing it. Powering off the phone is a pain, I'd rather take the battery out and it's faster. If I want to make sure it turns off, after holding the off key and hear a click sound, I have to wait for like 3 seconds for it to power down while staring at the screen with Cingular logo then the off-music came on then it's off. Sometimes when it's in screensaver mode, you can't tell if it's turned off or turned on with keylock on, you press any key and you can't see a light, then you have to try to unlock the keypad by aiming correctly with the c button and yes button. If the phone is already off, you have to look harder to see if there is a clock floating around.
Overall, for a tri-band phone with this price is not bad, it's ok. but in the long run, I would pay a bit more and have something more versatile.

So, let me reply to some of the whining I've expereinced about me phone:
-Color screen: do you need a status symbol? Buy a Nokia! 256
colors are more than enough.
-Calendar: This phone is not meant for biznessmen. Buy some sort of
friggin PDA and buzz off!
-Reception: Why haven't I seen a phone with recommended reception?
Coz these aren't satellite phonez! If you want perfect
reception, then PLIZ buy that and again: buzz off!

Now here's something I consider a flaw: The buttons are not only small, and hard to press, but the reaction time is either slow, or is equal to infinite. I'm just a dude who doesn't have a million bux, am not a biznessman, I don wanna PDA out of my chair. BUT I like to customize my phone and play around with it + send pics etc. Note: this is a multimedia lower-end phone meant for people who don't have all the financial resources to give out a million bux for a fork. But still it is so versatile, that actually it's superior to all other phones today in the market by its quality:price ratio.

I'm not your average Joe and I'm not a technician. I apparently have unusual features that I want in my mobile phones (or so it seems from reading this review).

* Price
* Battery life
* Ease of use

I believe this phone was the best for me, based on my criteria.

There were two deficiencies mentioned in the review.
1) I have no need for a fully blown built in organiser in a mobile phone. Call me strange icon_smile.gif
2) The 65536 colour screen does not make a great difference to the phone - except for the reduced battery life that people are likely to notice.

The only potentially important feature missing from this phone (which seemed not to rate a mention in the review) was blue tooth support. If you want a wireless earpiece or wireless car kit, then bluetooth is the way to go. It wasn't important for me.

Lastly, I noticed a distinct lack of reference to the price of accessories for this phone. However, the charger appears to be compatible with my former Ericsson T28s. That's good news for me.

Hope this helps

I bought it for a week and found out the UI seems slow after pressing the key. I have to wait for the screen to catch up with my presses. Phone is light, but not erogonomic, I found it hard to press the keys, without looking at the keys, they all feel the same. I'm a bit suprised by the charging adaptor connector, it's not easy to plug it in. No common earphone jack for handsfree, I'm not sure how many after market earphone will make that kind of a jack. The volume is one big draw back, it only has up to 8 levels, if you are out on a noisy street, maxing it up to 8/8 is not loud enough. The yes/no key and the two keys below them are the hardest to press and distinguish of the touch. Screen resolution is very low and dim, makes you want to go to sleep after navigating the screen for a while. Some icons are not intuitive, I have to wait for the UI to show up then read the name of that icon. Powering off the phone is slow, so sometimes I'm not sure if the phone is off or not, I have to wait for 3 seconds after I hold down the key and hear a click. The back cover is flimpsy, if I drop the phone, the back cover and battery pops right out, that is, depends how far you drop it, but this is within normal lifestyle, like running with a hole in pocket in your shorts. Oh yeah, flip phones, dropped? game over. One reason I don't want a flip phone. (off topic). No Calendar! The menu screen with icons fooled me into the fact that this is Palm-like OS that I can use a calendar or so, NOT. Games seems to be very arcade like, it's good, but the key configuration makes it hard to play it. The fire button is the same as the joystick, you control movement, but at the same time, pressing it down is fire?
Well, overall, for a tri-band phone at this price is OK, but I'd rather pay 100 bucks more to get a more versatile phone. I guess T616 is a better phone. I bought Nokia 6200 instead and I'm so happy with it, I pocket it around even at home.

Let's admit that this mobile is pretty nice! I got over the fact that it hasn't a Calendar icon_smile.gif , even thow the User Manual said it supposed to have this function icon_mad.gif, or that it has only an 8 bit display (256 colors), but is OK.

Another things that bugs me is the fact that when i connect it to my computer via data cable it tells me (the PC) that is a nearby computer:T300.

Oh! Yeah! I almost forgot! How can you edit the Special Numbers, especially the SOS ones.

Reading the Main Review I find out that it supposed to have this categories also about my contacts: Company, Title and Fax which my mobile doesn't have them.

Phew! Looks thaty this mobile isn't that perfect!
Thank you for reading this! <<Hope it didn't make you mad>> icon_biggrin.gif

i've had the t310 since october. being with fido (Canada) the phone did not come with THPS4, which sux0rs. As mentioned in previous reviews the screen can't keep up with the key presses. Buttons are rather stiff, and the layout on the keypad needs a re-think. One MAJOR drawback: This phone goes everywhere with me... i go a lot of places... i skateboard etc. so i need to use the key lock, well, when the key lock is on, absolutely nothing comes on the screen. the first time it was 2am and i went to use my t310 to call for a cab. i thought the phone was off so i attempted to turn it on. while i was actually turning it off. I nearly threw it to the ground. that might have been my mal drunken temper though. Anyways. i like the phone. i really want to use MMS, but i don't even know anyone who has a MMS capable phone :/
