I have never posted a review on ANYTHING before. I felt strongly enough about this to do it. I really like the phone. I agree about all the features on previous posts...I do not need to reiterate them. It is a great phone. I have three problems.
1) There are "hot" buttons all over the phone i.e. joystick up brings you to internet, the silver button on side of phone bring you to internet. There is no way to change the functionality of these buttons. How many buttons do I need to shortcut me to the internet (which I never use anyway)? My crappy V60 did that with no problem. I want them to hotkey to messages, or photos or something that I choose. They can not be changed. (I spoke to Sony Ericsson)
2) I bought this phone from Cingular. I was asking detailed email and functionality questions and how to change reply to address (I know how, but it was not working). The told me that they do not support the email on this phone. I told them they sold it to me as "photo messaging" so they must support it. They told me in Novemeber 2003 they would. I spoke to a supervisior who told me the same. I just want my reply to address to be my desktop email address. The email reply to is fake address where you cannot pick up your email EVER. So if someone replys to an email you sent, it will not get to your phone.
3) Photo detail is VERY poor. I was not looking for a supurb digital camera, but this is REALLY bad. I mean it takes a picture, and I can email it, but it is BAD.
I do not want to be negative because I like the phone, but buyers should be aware.
Thank you.

I am reviewing a T616 and HBH-35 from Sony Ericsson for a few weeks using the AT&T 30 day guarantee. My previous phones were Nokia 61xx, Samsung SPH-I300, Treo 300, and most recently the SPH-I330. The I330 was the worst phone I've ever had. Unstable, crashed all the time, terrible reception (compared to the Treo 300). So that's my knowledge base. A geek.
The T616 feels great. It's solid case and firm buttons give me confidence the phone won't fall apart. The menuing system is top notch and responsive. I have been able to sync all my contacts from outlook using a Dlink DBT-120 adapter with the 1.2.2.15 driver (ver 1.4 drivers did not work and could not see the phones services). All my contacts copied over as well as calendar entries. The calendar is quite powerfull with repeats, reminders, etc. Of course the picture quality and resolution is not the best. It is only good enough to take pictures for caller ID. And remember only 2MB of memory, total!
The HBH-35 headset was the reason I wanted the phone in the first place. It paired with the phone easily but I am very suprised about the poor sound quality. I have heard that other bluetooth headsets don't sound very clear, like a bad digital recording. And now that I have heard the quality of the most advanced headset I am shocked. People say they can here me fine and wouldn't know I'm on a headset but they sound OK to bad most of the time. I guess I will just have to get used to it since there is no alternative. Anyone else have this experience or do I have a bad headset?
Also I just received the Nokia 3650 for comparison. I took it out of the box and put it right back before cracking the SIM. It was a cheap piece of plastic that would crack or scratch the moment it was dropped. Really, it's like a plastic walky talky at the toy store. The battery compartment jiggles because of the plastic latch and the keypad buttons all rattle when you touch a button. I am totally astonished by this phone compared with other Nokia phones. So don't do it.

i've had this phone for almost a year and i would describe it as "okay". my frist complaint is that it has an increasing ring which there is no way to stop and i hate that. second is that the camera is really bad and theres not much memory to store the distorted photos. there also isnt any flash with is a little annoying but its not that hard to deal with nor is there a zoom but i've found that if you press the "1" button while in camera mode it does zoom a little. i also think it has way too many internet shortcut buttons. the vibrate is good but it only does 3 short buzzes which isnt really too noticable. the txt messaging is kind of a hassle only beacause it takes long to make a space i guess you just have to get used to it. i would like it to have speakerphone as well but it doesn't. on the good side it has great connection. i mean it really does have "more bars in more places". the phone has a very unique ringtone maker thing. my brother is really good with music and he makes unbelievable ringtones with this phone. it has a nice sort of "paint" program. it's just like paint on a computer and its amusing to play around with. overall on a scale from 1-10 i'd give this phone a 6.5.

Just purchased my T618 on Friday. I have to say that I am quite impressed. I used Samsung before and oh yes...Siemens...which I'm afraid suck and blow at the same time. The Sony Ericsson batery backup is terrific. I have also purchased a data cable. So I am putting ringtones on and themes. Could use more memory though, but at this price....its more than enough. Especially with bluetooth and infrared.....its a good buy

Well this phone got very good reviews over at cnet.com. I bought it from ebay for $65 including shipping and I believe it was worth every cent. For being a 2003 phone it compares very well on today's market. I guess I'll just make it simple:
the good:
attractive exterior
easy to navigate/pleasant to look at interface
bluetooth/infrared, all those email capabilities
user friendly buttons, joystick is a good idea
nice ringtone/theme selection
sturdy- black upper is plastic and silver part feels like metal
the bad:
screen scratches easily (but i heard toothpaste or brasso can help)
plastic part smudges easily
poor camera (but it was 2003)
connects to the internet a bit to conviently, esp. since that's a feature i'll never use
software can be a bit laggy
overall, i really like this phone. i have gone through about 3 in the last year of varying brands and i know the moto's and samsungs are all the rage but i think i have a new favorite. a better camera and quicker software would have given it a 10.
