I purchased this phone about 4 months ago and I am quite pleased with it. Of course there are a few minor issues. Anyway, here is my review of this phone.
Body: The feel of this phone was very pleasing…fitted into my palm really well. Keys were really visible, especially at night. The casing felt very sturdy so I didn’t have to worry that if it got dropped, it wouldn’t break. I also liked the fact that the plastic used on the casing made it hard to notice any smudges on it. It was a welcome sight if anyone has ever owned a T610 or T616. The screen is a bit exposed, however…gets scratched very easily. So the screen would be a priority if you like taking care of your phone. I bought a carrying case (which the phone has stayed in for about 90% of the time), but for some reason a few scratches showed up. Well you can’t keep anything perfect. I later bought a screen protector, and this was no longer an issue.
Camera: Let’s face it. A 0.3MP is not really worthy of having it alongside your 5.0MP digital camera. However, it is a nice bonus whenever it calls for picture time & you don’t have your digital with you. The pictures are a bit grainy at times. But in proper lighting, pictures are somewhat decent. I was taking some pictures of some yachts for sale in the early morning (about 6:30am) in Seattle and I was extremely surprised by the clarity. One thing I have always liked about the SE bar camera phones is that it feels somewhat like handling a digital camera when in camera mode.
Phone: I was happy with my previous Sony Ericsson’s (T226, T616) because they were well built and simple to use. This was no different. The interface on this phone is very simple and easy to get used to. 10 min using the phone and 10 min reading the manual, and you’re pretty much set. However, the UI seems to lag for about 1 second when navigating between menus. It’s not a big deal for me, but on-the-go-type people might find this rather annoying. One thing that took me a while to get used to where the sounds on this phone. Don’t get me wrong, the sounds are pleasant to the ear. It’s just that they are too pleasant…meaning soft. When receiving a call, the ring tone will start off soft then gradually get louder as it progresses. The same can be said of the alarm…it does pretty much the same thing. I guess it’s a welcome people who don’t want to be jumped out of their seat whenever the phone rings, but that is what I liked about my T226. For me, my cell phone is also my alarm clock. So I wasn’t really too pleased with this feature. The MusicDJ is a nice feature…thought I would never use it until I started playing around with it. I got to admit, I wasted a lot of time trying to make up new songs with the MusicDJ. Just don’t get caught by your boss. As far as signal strength is concerned, my calls are very satisfactory and I have never dropped a call with this phone. Voice dialing on this phone is just amazing. Really, the voice recognition understood every word that was recorded into a contact. Even when I had a sore throat and couldn’t speak that well, it recognized the names very easily. This impressed me because my S710a didn’t fair well. Battery life was above average. However, use of the camera or any of the Java based apps for a long period of time will lower the battery life rather quickly. This was not a big issue for me because I always had a charger with me. The only major drawback that I saw with this phone was its 2MB of memory.
My overall experience with this phone has been great. Many features that will keep you interested for a while. However, the sounds issue and the lack of memory was what made me get the Sony Ericsson S710a about 2 months ago. These are in no way negative aspects to this phone. I just addressed what I needed, and upgraded. Sometimes it helps when you write down what you really need (and want) in a phone before purchasing one. If that was the case, there would be less people complaining about their phones not doing this or that. Some phones are not meant to do things others are meant to do.

the phone is excellent, beautiful display that is super bright. battery life seemed low, but without BT turned on all the time, it improved significantly. the themes for 610/616 work for this phone, which is awesome, and the ringer is loud and clear. the camera is comparable to the other phones on the market today, but there needs to be a good amount of light since the phone has no flash. all in all, this is quite possibly the most perfect bar-style phone on the market today for under $250. i highly recommend it.

Forget what everyone else is talking about, this is the greatest phone ever. I recently upgrade from the LG 4010. This is my first camera and color phone. THe resolution on the screen is beautiful. The picture quality is decent, and really depends on what or where your taking a picture of. This is overall a great phone. Before purchasing this phone I did research for about three weeks, allow me to stop your research, purchase this phone and you will not be disappointed. It has so many features that listing only a few would not do the phone any justice. i love my sony ericsson t637. I found that this phone does very well when it comes to call reception, this phone could get a signal at the bottom of the ocean. Really, this is a great phone I would definitely purchase it, the camera and large beautiful screen are just bonuses on top of the myriad of other features offered.

I decided to step up to the T637 from the T616(Had the T68i before that). At first I thought that I should have waited till the next model was available. In addition to all the features found on the T616 the T637 has improved features, software ,and reception. At work my T616 would get 0-1 bars of reception, but the T637 typically gets 2-3 It also has built in Java software for popular chat clients suh as AIM, ICQ, and YAHOO. The screen is also a nice upgrade from previous models. I love these Sony Ericssons phone every new model always exceeds my expectations!

The Sony Ericsson T637 is a nice phone, it has better battery life than most motorola's. It has a very nice screen, good resolution, easy to read. Reception is adequate, but not outstanding. You can lose reception by rotating the phone.
The camera's resolution is not very good and worse in low light. The bluetooth is good but it does not allow downloading of games, just ringtones and themes, and synching out your contacts and possibly your calender if you have a newer version of outlook. It is dissapointing that the phone can play amr ringtones but cannot use them as ringtones. It was clearly the best value for a phone with my company, cingular. It was free, with a 1 year contract. Can't beat it.
