At just 9.4 mm thin, the W880i is the slimmest Sony Ericsson phone yet and combines the full Walkman phone experience with a device that fits easily into a pocket. The 1 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) provided in-box gives users room to store up to 900 full length tracks, whilst the host of innovative music applications (such as Walkman Player 2.0 and Disc2Phone) make it easy to get music onto their phone and search through play lists. With Bluetooth Audio Streaming, music can be enjoyed wirelessly on a Stereo Bluetooth Headset. And a 2.0-megapixel camera is integrated with high-speed UMTS support for picture blogging.

W880i Review
Reviewer: LordLemmington on Thu Jun 14, 2007
Had the phone for couple weeks now. It's all good. Amazing what they packed in considering the size. Camera is good in the day, but a bit fuzzy at night - same with every mobile I guess. Walkman function is easy to use. Battery lasts about 3 days with normal use (not including walkman use).
The voice activated calling is very good at recognising your inputs and useful for when you driving - you don't even have to pick up the handset to make a call - just say the name into the bluetooth headset and it dials automatically.
The raised keys make txting pretty easy despite the size of the keypad. My only negatives really are that the manual is poor and doesn't explain what all the functions do - only describes how to navigate to them. Reception in buildings is also not as good as other phones. All up happy with my purchase. Styling!

Since mobile phones first attract users based on the design sported by them, it is only natural to give full marks to Sony Ericsson W880i. it manages to be really good in terms of design which is both svelte and useable without compromising on features (we come to that later!). The styling of the phone is very cool with the trademark black and red phone body and the decently-sized screen manages to make usability quite high.
Other than the design, the Sony Ericsson W880i does extremely well as a phone as well since it has very good voice quality (though music playback is not so great) and the slim exterior does not mean that its entertainment features are sacrificed. The camera is really good and what supports a good camera is the 1GB memory card which translates to the fact that you can continue to store images without worrying too much about the space in the camera.
There is no radio bundled with the phone but its otherwise load speakers and 3G features more than make up for it. The buttons might feel a tad small but then you need to discount them as the phone manages to sport a fairly large screen without a flip phone design. Another missing feature is the auto-focus abilities of the camera which can be a bit disappointing for the trigger happy phone user. The W880i manages to win over many users and though it does have its peculiarities, it gives a good run for money to its closest competitors. Talking about money….the W880i is not cheap!
