Released for T-Mobile, the Sidekick 2008 lets users create shells with the images, colors or designs. Consumers can upload a personal photo or graphic design, or select their own text, shapes, icons or logos. The final design is custom-printed onto the shell, then shipped. Once the design is complete, users can share their work of art in a public gallery. It ships with two shells, Black and Metallic Green, however pre-designed shell patterns and colors can be purchased at retail stores or online. Other features include instant messaging, text and email, stereo Bluetooth and an integrated 2.0-megapixel camera. The Sidekick 2008 comes with customizable web surfing and more internal memory for storage.

Bought the phone about 2 months ago, liked it at first but now I can't wait to get rid of it. The web browser is works at a snails pace. You can only download games or ringtones through the phone since you can only download Sidekick specific things the amount of ringtones and games are more limited. I bought the data plan with the phone but realized that I could not afford the extra $20 a month then I found out that without the data plan you cannot buy anymore download anymore ringtones or reinstall anything you may have removed to free up space and apparently without the data plan you also do not get any alerts for when you get a text/picture message. The sidekick also keeps randomly losing its signal and would take a few minutes to recover. The power button on mine also randomly quits working and other times works with a hair trigger, the slightest sneeze will turn the phone off. The sound on the speaker phone part is far to quite even when you have the volume for it turned all the way up.
Unless you plan on getting and keeping the data plan for this phone I would avoid this phone.

Hate new sidekick 2008! Its very slow web browsing, difficult to use phone, no hard copy manual.can't even access t-mobile's main page for support, sound is lousy, list goes on. Liked t-zones service better on old phone just as 'fast' sidekick support group not helpful. Returning this device asap!
