Entertainment
Users can watch videos on Windows Media Player, get videos from Streaming
Media and read news and blogs via RSS Hub.
RSS Hub allows users to read or listened to headlines from pre-selected
sources and Web sites from the BBC to NPR.
There are just two games -- Bubble Breaker and Solitaire -- on the phone,
but customers can downloads more by going to the online application store.
Users can watch videos from Internet sites like YouTube through Streaming
Media and also purchase clips from the "Get Applications" option on the
handset's home menu.
The Ozone has some decent entertainment options. Streaming Media and
RSS Hub help make the most of Internet sites with news and video. The system
isn't perfect, though. Applications are only available for download through
the Web and videos played on Windows Media Player appear tiny until full
screen is selected, already seconds into the video.
Internet
The Ozone supports Verizon's 3G EV-DO Rev. A network and Wi-Fi connectivity
-- virtually guaranteeing users can find a connection anytime, anywhere.
It uses Internet Explorer Mobile to render Web sites, but the browser
is rather cumbersome and confusing to navigate with.
The
handset also has a GPS position locator and Verizon's VZ Navigator to get
maps, turn-by-turn spoken directions, weather conditions by zip code, points
of interest search, prices and locations for gas stations and optional rerouting
if drivers miss a turn.
Internet service on the Ozone is convenient over 3G or Wi-Fi. The Web
browser, though, could use a more mobile-friendly design. The Snap has more
options for Internet sites but no Wi-Fi connectivity.
Storage
The Ozone comes with 192MB of memory -- the same as the Dash 3G and the
Snap. It has 74.74MB of free storage memory and 65.43MB of program memory
available. That's not a huge chunk for anyone planning to store many applications,
but it's nothing to sneeze at. Fortunately a microSD card, sold separately,
can add up to 16GB or memory.
Contact information can include name, two numbers for work or home, a
mobile phone number, a personalized ringtone, picture, three email addresses,
three instant message names, company number, pager and car phone numbers,
work or home fax, radio phone, assistant's number, Web page, company and
department name, title, office and home addresses, notes, a nickname, birthday,
anniversary, customer and government IDs, account name, and the names of
the contact's manager, assistant, spouse and children. Contacts can be Outlook
or SIM contacts.
The Ozone has a decent amount of memory and room for more, plus plenty
of contact options.
