Conclusion
The
LG Chocolate is a seductive phone that integrates many firsts. From its
touch-sensitive keypad to the sleek exterior and hidden screen, the obvious
aesthetic appeal is no wonder it was a best selling handheld overseas.
The Chocolate is undoubtedly gorgeous. Ideal for consumers who want a
phone not just for communication, but also as an accessory, it's a bit pricey
but backs it up with robust functionality. Providing strengths in imaging,
audio, connectivity, and usability, the 1.3-megapixel camera, music player,
EV-DO and Bluetooth, and Flash-based UI offer a complete multimedia package.
However some basic functions common on even basic phones are curiously
absent on the Chocolate. Lacking a camera flash, taking pictures in low
light conditions proves quite difficult. And missing speakerphone functional
prevents users from using handsfree functionality, which may be a death
blow for some consumers
Additionally, using the Chocolate to its full potential costs more that
what comes out of the box. Containing few accessories, purchasing the Music
Expansion Pack and memory cards are suggested. And while integrating excellent
online features, Verizon Wireless' VCAST Music and Video and VZ Navigator
services require monthly fees or per item costs.
Unexpected customers may be surprised to realize they'll need to pay
a bit more on top of their monthly plan to unleash the Chocolate's multimedia
capabilities. Data fees can unfortunately add up quite quickly.
Regardless, the Chocolate is one of the few devices that combine combines
fashion-forward design with robust functionality. While a few drawbacks
are present, by and large the Chocolate lives up to its tasty moniker.
