The VX7000 can store up to 336 messages: 1 voice message, 50 inbox text messages, 50 inbox pix messages, 100 inbox pix notification messages, 50 sent text messages, 50 sent pix messages, 15 draft text messages, and 20 draft pix messages.

The messaging functionality of the VX7000 very good. Features such as MMS, SMS, email, and chat are all present. Readers should realize that many of these features are not "true" features, but are supplemented by the Verizon Wireless network. MMS and email are launched through Verizon's service. However, since the VX7000 is strictly released for Verizon, it doesn't affect the flexibility.

Regardless, users can send and receive SMS, MMS, email, and chat messages. The VX7000 allows users to add voices, pictures, or even video to messages. Additionally, chat capabilities include compatibility with such popular services as AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger. All supplemented with the text messaging ease of T9 predictive text. By entering the first few letters, the VX7000's internal dictionary can predict what words users are attempting to type.

With Verizon's getALERTS and getTXT, subscribers pay a fee per message sent and received. Or if users so choose, various bundled pricing options are available, charged per month for text messages and alerts sent and received.
