Connectivity
This
handset has 28.0 MB of internal memory, a slight improvement from the VX8600's
24.0 MB. With the external microSD memory card slot, users can move music
from their computers directly to the phones.
The VX8700 can easily record all the contacts of even the most connected
users, with a phone book of up to 1,000 entries with five phone numbers,
two email addresses and a picture ID for each, depending upon available
memory.
Conclusion
The VX8700 supports the following Bluetooth Profiles, all of which are
sold separately: headset, hands–free, dial–up networking, serial port, advanced
audio distribution (Stereo headset support), file transfer, audio/video
remote control, object push profiles for vCard and vCal, Phone Book Access,
Basic Printing, and Basic Imaging. It does not support all Bluetooth OBEX
profiles.
Conclusion
LG's VX8700 is a smart, sleek phone that can compete with the thin Motorola
models when it comes to style. Simple lines are pleasing to the eye, if
the location of music controls inside irks some people who appreciate them
on the external face of the phone. The external vertical display, while
innovative from an aesthetic perspective, could also become annoying when
the phone must be turned to one side or another to read the time.
The excellent photo quality is a definite highlight of the phone, and
puts it at the current forefront of camera cell phones. The location of
the microSD external memory card port behind the battery seems to be a design
flaw, and forces users to remove the phone's back and battery to access
it.
This is a solid phone, however, based upon its camera and camcorder,
and the improvement upon Verizon Wireless' basic menu with a Flash interface.
Screen quality on the internal display is also excellent and does justice
to the photos that users can take. Accessories included with the phone include
only the barest basics, so customers can expect to shell out extra if they
want to take full advantage of some of the VX8700's multimedia functions.
