Motorola RAZR MAXX Ve Review - Storage / Connectivity / Conclusion

Storage

Motorola RAZR MAXX Ve BackThe Ve comes packed with a generous 60 MB of internal memory plus the option of 2 GB removable microSD memory. However, access to the microSD card requires removing the back cover.

Connectivity

Offering a wireless range of approximately 30 feet (10 meters), the Ve supports multiple Bluetooth profiles including A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), Headset (HSP), Handsfree (HFP), Dial-Up Networking (DUN), Serial Port (SPP), and Object Push (OPP) profiles.

Headset and Handsfree profiles allow users to wirelessly connect a headset or handsfree car kit to the Ve, while the Dial-Up Networking profile (DUN) lets consumers obtain a dial-up connection for a connected laptop via the mobile phone. The Object Push (OPP) profile provides wireless transfer of simple objects, such as images or virtual business cards. And lastly, and probably the most interesting, A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) streams stereo music to A2DP-compatible headphones; so music listeners can walk around and listen to music without wires.

Conclusion

The Motorola RAZR MAXX Ve combines sleek style with 3G connectivity to deliver Verizon's VCAST music, videos and applications as well as Mobile Web 2.0 for emailing. Adding convenience through design, touch-sensitive music control buttons on the outside of the clamshell transform the Ve into an MP3 player when it's closed.

As loaded as the Ve comes with tools for consuming multimedia, its 2.0-megapixel still and video camera (with flash) will make multimedia wizards out of Ve owners interested in creating video emails and narrated photos.

Good transmission and reception make the Ve both funcional as well as fashionable, while its crisp screens brighten the entire room.

However, in comparison to the LG VX8700, Verizon's less expensive phone with many of the same features, the Ve doesn't offer much more for the extra cost. In a side-by-side comparison, what the Ve provides is RAZR design and cachet, which to some is worth the extra cost.

And while the Ve offers an improved keyboard over earlier models of the RAZR, knowing that the RAZR2 will hit stores soon makes the phone less appealing.
