Entertainment
Familiar applications found on most devices are included on the RAZR
V3c as well, including an Alarm Clock, Calculator, Calendar, Notepad, and
World Clock. Additionally, through Verizon Wireless, Hotmail, AOL and
Yahoo! email accounts are accessible.
Also featuring speaker-independent speech recognition, the RAZR V3c includes
MotoSpeak technology. Allowing users to make name and digit calls or open
and use phone applications such as camera, voicemail and redial, consumers
only need to speak commands such as Call, Send Picture, Send Text, or Lookup
without prerecording or training.
Built on BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) technology, consumers
can purchase or download Java-based software on the V3c. But with the lack
of connectivity features, users will most likely get them through Verizon
Wireless' Get It Now service. There are currently a wide range of programs
in multiple genres to choose from.
Reminiscent of 80's style console games, consumers can also take advantage
of 3D gaming. Available through Get It Now, many popular games have been
adapted for the small screen, costing about $10 for unlimited purchase,
or $3 for a monthly subscription.
Currently a few games in a wide range of genres are available including
Duke Nukem Mobile 3D, EA Sports Madden '06 3D, Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm
Multiplayer, Need For Speed Underground 2, and The Incredibles 3D.
Internet
As an EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) capable device, the RAZR V3c can
access Verizon Wireless' 3G broadband network at theoretical speeds of up
to 2.4 Mbps. But more realistic rates are around 300 to 500 kbps.
Tirelessly expanding, Verizon Wireless' network is one of the largest
in the country, now extending to more than 171 major metropolitan markets
and 68 primary airports.
Through
EV-DO, consumers are able to access VCAST, a subscription-based video streaming
and download service. Through VCAST, shows up to 5 minutes long are downloadable
through the RAZR V3c, allowing consumers to watch mobile television anywhere
EV-DO coverage is available.
Entertainment programs are offered in live and prerecorded formats, such
as ABC News, CNBC, MSNBC, the Weather Channel, the News Corp.'s Twentieth
Century Fox studio, and Viacom Inc.'s VH1 and Comedy Central cable channels.
Additionally, Video-On-Demand is available through Verizon Wireless'
Get It Now service. Allowing customers to subscribe to and select preferences
for their favorite content, text alerts are sent when new videos becomes
available.
