Flipped open, an even larger 2.2-inch QVGA screen is revealed, with nearly double the resolution of the original RAZR V3, at a similar 240 x 320 px. Presenting a bright layout for viewing everything from email, on-demand content or pictures and video clips from friends, the RAZR2 V9's internal LCD offers clear and vivid imagery for multimedia-intense applications.

Both of the RAZR2 V9's internal and external LCDs are built from TFT (Thin Film Transistor) technology, offering the brightest contrast and clearest images, over STN (Super Twisted Nematic) LCDs. Providing exceptional resolution and clarity, the RAZR2 V9 is an ideal device to view images and videos from.

Audio

Motorola RAZR2 V9 OpenUser ratings have put the RAZR2 V9 at the top of its class within AT&T's current wireless offerings for clear sound and reliable signals. One factor in the V9's success is Motorola's CrystalTalk technology, where call volume is automatically adjusted to cancel out background noises wherever they are.

For music lovers, the RAZR2 V9 can purchase and download tracks from AT&T Music service or upload existing MP3s from a personal computer. Users also have the option of downloading additional songs from the digital music libraries of Napster and Yahoo! Music.

While audio from the phone's digital music player is good, it is likely to sound better using stereo headphones. The V9 is capable of reading MP3, WMA, eAAC+, Real, and WAV song files. Volume on the phone can be adjusted up to seven levels.

The RAZR2 V9 also runs on AT&T Mobile Music, allowing customers to browse, purchase and download full-track songs from a catalog of more than 5 million tracks, including content from all major labels. Users will instantly receive copies of purchased tracks on both the wireless phone and their PC.

Messaging

Messaging options on the V9 include text messaging, web-based email and instant messaging. Users can share SMS text and MMS multimedia messages with messaging services from AOL, Windows Live and Yahoo! Messenger.

Another messaging feature is the phone's updated T9 text input system which uses a pre-set dictionary of words and punctuation to anticipate your next move as you key in text messages and emails. Users can also read and respond to text messages without even opening the phone. Messages can be viewed on the V9's external LCD screen and answered with one of 15 preset messages.
