The digital camera lens is located on the back of the 3200. By using
the screen as the viewfinder, the 3200 can capture photos at a CIF resolution
of 352 x 288 px in Standard Mode. Whereas, Portrait Mode takes a size reduced
picture (80 x 96 px). With most camera phones having a resolution of 640
x 480 px, the Nokia 3200's camera is disappointing. The camera on this phone
is more of a novelty item than anything else. Don't even consider printing
picture taken from the 3200. Once transferred to a computer, the pictures
looked grainy and low resolution. It seems as though the camera is only
good for taking pictures of your friends and using them as contact pictures.
Users can also choose the image quality of the photos taken. At high
quality, picture are around 20 KB. With an internal memory of 1 MB, users
have enough room to store approximately 40-50 photos at a time.
The 3200 come with a radio found on many previous Nokia phones. Users
can still make a call or answer an incoming call while listening to the
radio. The volume will be muted when a call is accepted. And when the call
is finished, the radio will automatically be turned back on. The loudspeaker
feature is located here too. Calls are nice and loud. It's even loud enough
to be used as a portable radio.
The Voice Recorder is an incredibly useful feature if you have a difficult
time remembering things to do. The Nokia 3200 allows users to record a message
for up to 1 minute long. Another option that might not be so obvious is
the capability to record voices and use them as ring tones. People can get
creative and record a unique sound clip.
