Introduction
How can so much music come out of such a little phone? Somewhere out
there, a Nokia engineer or two must know the answer, because the Nokia 5310
XpressMusic phone manages to cram a whole lot of sound into quite a small
package.

Designed around the MP3 / cell phone fusion experience, the Nokia 5310
presents a convenient size and shape for an excellent auditory experience.
Users who care less for music phones than phones that get the communication
job done should enjoy the Nokia 5310's tiny, lightweight design and complete
basic features package, including a phonebook and other organizational applications.
And for those for whom snazzy music features are not enough pizzazz to warrant
further attention, the phone also has a camera (still and video), downloadable
games, and streaming video.
Design
The race is on for making cellular telephones as small as possible, and
the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is sprinting towards the finish line. At 104
x 45 x 10 mm, the phone is approximately the same thickness as it own slim
owner's manual, and can be slid into pockets, tiny little clutch purses,
and perhaps even a large wallet. The phone is only 70 grams, which, for
those of us who struggle with the abstractness of weights and measures,
is approximately as heavy as nothing at all.
The
design of the block phone is not only compact, but also sleek and fashionable.
Grayish-black with one of three metallic accent colors (red, orange, or
purple), the phone is alternatively shiny and sheer, offering an exciting
combination of the best of both worlds. The large 240 x 320 px main screen
glows serenely across the upper half of the phone, with the standard keypad,
and five-way navigation button unobtrusively resting in the lower half.
The back face features stylish, sheer gray and light gray dot-pattern, the
Nokia logo, battery slot, and camera lens.
The Nokia 5310's various buttons are arranged in a fashion exceptionally
convenient for one-handed phone-operation. The two long edges of the phone
are lined with the volume toggle switch and three music keys (fast forward,
rewind, and play / pause), making it easy for both righties and lefties
to control these features with a push of the pointer or a touch of the thumb.
In a fun twist, the power button is on top edge of the phone, allowing the
user to switch the power on and off without messing with the keypad. Even
the camera lens is arranged neat on the back face of the phone so that the
user can casually snap a shot without realigning the phone from normal dialing
position.
Tiny, shiny, and functional, the Nokia 5310 provides the user with pocket-sized
style and convenience. The various colors, neatly-placed keys, and ultra-slim
thickness make this phone a good choice for users looking for a subtle but
sleek block-style phone.
Out of the box, the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic comes with an 800 mAh Li-Ion
Battery, Charger, Data Cable, Quick Start Guide, and User Manual.
