Nokia 6102 Review - Connectivity / Conclusion

Connectivity

Nokia 6102 SideTransmitting data and multimedia between the Nokia 6102 and a PC is a breeze through USB Pop-Port connection. Also featuring an infrared port, users have the freedom to transfer and synchronize without wires.

For fast synchronization, the Nokia 6102 supports all the latest PAN (Personal Area Network) and OTA (Over-The-Air) technologies for synchronization.

SyncML is the common language for synchronizing all devices and applications over any network. With SyncML any personal information, such as email, calendars, to-do lists, contact information and other relevant data, will be consistent, accessible, and up to date, no matter where the information is stored.

Conclusion

From the exterior, the Nokia 6102 looks like an unassuming device, featuring conservative lines and a monotone color-scheme. But hidden beneath the cover, lies some surprisingly advanced characteristics, most notably an FM radio, infrared port, and EDGE high-speed Internet access.

Although a very capable device, the 6102 has limitations in imaging, and more specifically its 0.3-megapixel camera. Lacking features such as filters, effects, and even digital zoom, the built-in camera is too poor in resolution to make any prints from.

But it's a short list. For users who just plan on capturing unexpected moments to share via MMS or view on their computer, the camera will suffice.

Best suited for the average consumer not looking to pay an arm and a leg for a do-it-all device, the Nokia 6102 and its sister the Nokia 6101, have no significant drawbacks and several strengths in audio, connectivity, and messaging. Features found in costlier devices, the Nokia 6102 makes a good "bang for the buck" phone.
